First time I went to Vegas I screwed up. I flew in at night and flew home in the morning. Totally wasted 2 days of my trip. From here on out- fly into Vegas early in the morning (land about 8 am) and fly out about 1 pm (land in MN in evening)
You're lucky you got to fly in on this approach! :) Usually, planes fly in a totally different way facing towards the strip and you don't get to see the strip at all... But very great video!
This video just makes me want to jump on a plane to Vegas and soon as I got there, just sprint across the tarmac to the nearest casino and start playing black jack and ordering drinks wildly!

For all the people who LIVE in Vegas, what is it like living there? I have heard it is cool, I guess with 6.99 steak and lobster buffets, and the chance to become very rich in a matter of seconds is a thrill a minute with all the lights and noises
@miatageekscott There are two parts to the city The Strip and the rest. Most locals avoid The Strip (crowded); decent buffets start at 14.95 per person. The (casinos) do send out coupons for (FREE or 2 for 1) buffets every 3 months or so. The odds of winning the big ONE is slim, but locals keep trying. The best buffet bargains are grave shift hours usually 12:00 to 6:00 am. for 1.99 - egg, sausage, hash browns and toast; and 3.99 - New York steak and eggs or 2.99 - 1/2 lb. cheese burger w fries.
My friends and I are flying to Vegas next month and here I was bummed we were going to be flying in at 9 something at night. Now I'm thinking maybe that won't be so bad afterall because look at those lights! WOW! I just hope I can video tape too, but with how things went this past week in Detroit I can see us not being able to hold anything during landing. :(

When you reserve your flight to vegas, if you want to see the strip when the plane is landing you have to be on the right side of the plane.

what kind of camera were you using? i try to arrive in the early afternoon, park in my room and spend a long day/night on the strip.
