  • Is that Gandalf?

  • Arlene looks really cute in this one.

  • 1:28 John tells Mr. Vaughn to compliment Arlene on her new what? Her new "hair comb"? Is that how they referred to hair dos back then?

  • LOL... Good thing that this long hair hippy look didn,t take off into the 60s...

  • Another great episode on "What's my line"! It turns the clock back for us, to watch this program that became so popular and aired for so many years.

  • Arlene and this contestant were BOTH ahead of their time.

  • Does anyone know how they selected the contestants? Do they write in and submit themselves, and are then selected?

  • I like this guy. My first thought: it's Wild Bill HIckock!

  • This guy was ahead of his time. This look did come in in the late 60's 70's in full force. He really wasn't bad looking at all.

  • @calalilygirl he must have had very strange looks from people this was very very long hair for a man back then.

  • I wish he was around now. I have some dying trees that need some help ;-) he seems like a very likable person :P

  • cool guy! :P

  • Interesting. I live in Sunland-Tujunga.

  • 5:03 -- I would think it is hard to tell if trees are conscious at all.

  • HAHA, just love Arlene. She looks FANTASTIC in this episode.Love the new hairdo.

  • not a typical beard of the 50's

  • You can hear the backstage guy telling the guest to sign the broard at the very beginning.

  • I didn't catch the guest panelist's name. Is it Gig Young?

  • ARLENE: "I like the way you have yours done too"

MR. VAUGHN: "It isn't 'done' it's natural"

ARLENE: "Mr. Vaughn, you have a crazy advantage over me"

Hahaha.. Arlene always knows what to say. A natural comic that makes lots of these segments hilarious.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Thanx to crepehanger47 for posting these contestants clips. We modern viewers probably cannot fathom what a shock this guy's appearance must have been in conservative 1958.

This is classic clip of "good cop" Arlene and "bad cop" Dorothy, though the panel all seem so obsessed with his foliage that they never quite get close.

  • That fellow has a very large head of hair! LOL "it's Natural".

    Thank you!
