@EmoFreak101010 No that zombie was a special infected they kicked out. At first the boomer would act as a bomb, if shot cause a great amount of damage to close survivors. The screamer was a zombie that was in a straight jacket and if he saw you, he'd run then scream loudly to get the zombies to attack you. Valve decided that it was too confusing so they took it out and gave the boomer horde attracting powers. if you don't believe me, it's in the commentary for both L4D1 and 2.

Part 2:

Valve found it difficult for players to run through mobs of zombies while trying to kill the Screamer. He was cut, and this is where the Boomer comes into play. While the Screamer was still in the game, the boomer only had to ability to run up to do, and if you shit him, he would blow up, dealing a lot of damage. After the Screamer got cut, HIS horde-drawing scream evolved into the Boomers puke/explode-drawing attack. Or in other words, the Boomer was given the ability to vomit.

Valve explains how The screamer got removed from the game you retards. Just go to Developer commentary in the Extra category in the main menu. -.- The Screamer had the sound files of the Jockey and the Hunter. When the Screamer was wandering around he would start cackling (A.K.A the Jockey's laughing.) When he saw a survivor, he would run away to a safe place (while you were trying to kill him) and let out a loud scream (A.KA The hunter's scream.) Which would alert the horde. Valve found it...

Ok ppl the screamer is in the game if you dumm holes think that the boomer wasn't ever made try out l4d1 befor you play left 4 dead 2, on a side note thay did indeed take out the screamer do to the fact no one could see him in the common infected. BUT he can still be found, herd, and killed in the parish when you leave the car but he's only there 1 time. So play it a few times to see him or you'll miss your chance...

I think that the screamer was taken out because they originally planned that you had to find the screamer in order to stop a horde from attacking you but if you didn't find it in the alotted time then it would scream and alert the horde. maybe even follow you. That is part of the reason, but Valve also claimed that it would be hard to spot this guy in a group of normal Infected. If they had put him in the game; when he appears you have a split second to shoot him or he hides away and does the scream that attracts Infected.

I have a mod for this guy right here. The screamer was actually NOT removed from the game,he still had the model,the FPS model for the Versus mode,and the AI. He was missing the sounds. So my friend made a new model (Crazy Person,In a strait jacket and a facemask) of him,added some sounds. And bingo. The screamer. The screamer will yell REALLY loudly and you'll hear the horde coming. This is only (was) available in the first L4D. The mod was removed for Copyright,and my friend lost the file.....
