It would have been 1000000 times cooler is Mr. Chahi decided to have an additional soldier examine the dead alien's body while enabling the player to still bust his cranium with that shiny green lamp!

LOL the opposite happened to me, I shot the chandelelier down, BUT the guy didn't die, and he was to hard to kill, because my emulator was slow as hell, so i used a code XD
Must admit. I was never good enough to kill that dude without the chandelier. A glitch I found is in the room direcly before the pool, where you get sandwiched by guards. If you keep running-jumping you can sometimes make it to the next screen (possibly dying) which triggers a checkpoint without fighting.

Then again my memory is somewhat faded because to be honest, i played the Amiga version in 1991 ;) 19 years can skew that memory a bit.
