bunating: You're wrong; the cars were tested by pro drivers and also amateurs/novice drivers by invitation (i.e. BOTH). The CTS-V was driven at Nurburgring by Heinrichy and the BMW M5 by their own factory pro driver and the Cadillac won hands-down, so stop making pathetic and misinformed excuses. The CTS-V is a beast and is also very easily pumped to over 600HP with intake and exhaust mods of less than $4K.

Heinricy doesn't race for a living. He's probably best considered Semi-Pro IMO. He's foremost and engineer and races in spare time. Yes he's made pro race appearances but he's not Andy Pilgrim or Johnny O'Connel.

The challenge was to beat Lutz (not just any random GM engineer or test driver) in his Caddy. The guy in the M3 did that. He won the challenge.

Caddy's challenge was not that an amateur in a production saloon should beat a pro-driver in the Caddy.

Bob Lutz challenge was that someone should beat him in the Caddy with a production saloon from another brand. Michael Cooper did just that, therefore he did win the challenge.

Whether the GM pro-driver was faster than an amateur in an M3 has not much to do with Bob's challenge...

No, it was the CTS-V challenge.  Not the Bob Lutz challenge. Bob Lutz made the challenge that the CTS-V is the fastest production sedan in the world. Not that he was the fastest driver.
