  • "Chain Reaction" was released in 1974 by ABC/Bluethumb. Any other label's release is a re-issue.

  • @johnny01031955 Allright thank's

  • Rip the audio from this video at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • 1975!

  • @waltsimsjr Thank's !

  • so nice...

  • @UBZUKI Thank's for the comment.

  • @ADNANAMIL That was a question? I don't think Joe has passed away. I would definitely know.....

  • @soulasismusic Thank's for the info. I must have misread it somewhere. I think I must have got the info somewhere in Wikipedia. Sorry for the error I will make a correction.

  • @soulasismusic I hope not. The original Crusaders are scheduled to play at the Berks jazz fest on April 2, 2011. Stix Hooper is the only original who won't be there, but Joe Sample, Wilton Felder and Wayne Henderson will be there.

  • Chain Reaction came out in 1975 not 1979...1979 was Street Life

  • @tardit Hi, Thank's for the info as stated on the record cover ir was 79 or maybe this is the second issue instead of the earlier pressing. Thank's for the comment.

  • @ADNANAMIL anytime MCA bought out ABC Records in 1979

  • @tardit Thank's !

  • @ADNANAMIL.....I think Joe Sample might be the more recognized of the group. With his many collaborations and solo efforts.....just a thought.

  • @JColeM7785 Yeah I totally agree with you that the late Joe Sample also deserved the credits which is also one of the founder members of the Crusaders. Thank's for the comment.

  • @ADNANAMIL The "late" Joe Sample?

  • Thank you for posting!!!

  • @goodmusic314 You're welcome !

  • Brings back some really smooth memories.

  • @TheBoneRanger1968 Hi Greg indeed it does bringing back the joy and the good times that we go thru. Thank's for the comment !

  • Is that the great Larry Carlton doing his guitar thing on this track?

  • Yes it is Larry Carlton doing his guitar job in this track. Thank's for asking !!!

  • neofunkyman1, Thnx for your feedback! To each his own. I always looked at folks like Thelonius Monk as Fusion??? There were foks like Donald Byrd, Ramsey Lewis, and to me, the Crusaders thatwere releasing "happy", albeit expressive, upbeat music. On the other hand, Chick Corea, Thelonius, to me seemed more "exploring"-Fusion.

Regardless, the important thing is these, I beleive are the "original group", before the group broke up.

  • hi cooljazzlady thanks for your info regarding the groupsmention Actually the intepretation of fusion varies from each individual taste. To me Thelonius Monk is more toward sJazz Funk., Chick Corea are more towards Quientet Jazz group. To me real fusion its likeHerbie Hancock - Jazz Fusion Cantelope Island, Krissho Ohno - Japanese Jazz Fusion Music, Pete Casllard which I think not so fusion, like you say to each its own.Try to check it out. Thanks for your feedback and comments

  • Hey addy!, before signing off last night (actually 5 am), I did some investigating: Theolonius Monk, Herbie Hancock (Headhunter-I cld see the albm cvr, but cldn't thnk names, I did the same with Weather report.) But, the researcher cited them & Miles, remem Bitches Brew, & Chick Corea. was cited too. It's funny, I have a "rejected" (by Youtube) Flora Purim/CA Jobim song, Dindi. I had tried to upld instd of P Baile's Moondance. cont'd.

  • hi cooljazzlady you really did a lot of research work on the jazz artists that you mentioned, actually Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Headhunter ,Bitches Brew have got their own different composition and style of making music.I love them all and I still have my old vinyl record s of Chick Corea and Miles Davis yet to be uploaded on Youtube.Thank's for the research work, goodnight !!!

  • I'm posting this in my SPOTLIGHT Playlist!!!! This rates 100/100!

  • hi, I am glad that you like Crusaders -Rainbow Visions it's my favourite too. Thank's for your comment Take care !!!

  • Wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL!!! THIS IS A CLASSIC! All Crusaders are on this! Type the performers' name's , tag too, you'll get hits!

Back in the day, this was perhaps "Contemporary", but NEVER Fusion. An example of "Fusion" would be Pharoah Sanders. Any song by PH cd except his "Prayer Before Dawn" Get my fish, fish, and more fish -"The Greatest Love Of All".

  • This one is really nice, I like it and have a a nice day !!!

  • Fusion - now there's a thing. Personally I always believed that meant modern jazz 'mixed' with modern rythmn as in Jazz Funk or the sort of thing George Duke, Donald Byrd, Roy Ayres etc did in the 70s. BTY - Pharoah Sanders - Gotta have freedom is one of my best ever tunes.

  • hi, thanks for your feeddback and info reg Fusion type of music i agree with you that fusion goes along with modern rhythm that goes will the beat of Jazz. I myself is also confused on how to intepret real fusion. Like cooljazzlady says to each it's own. You can try to check out Herbie Hancock - Jazz Fusion ' Cantelope Island " it seems more like it. Thank's for your comment !!!

  • The Headhunters, Chameleon etc is purer fusion but the people began to label commercial stuff as fusion aswell. To complicate things here in the UK we had Brit Funk which was a complete mix of genres but mainly rnb based. Then Level 42 eg began with Jazz Funk but then took a totally different direction. Incognito also started off with Parisienne Girl, Summers Ended etc back when they had strong assosiation with LOTW. Now they have difted into more rnb/soul which to be fair is still pretty cool.

  • Thanks neofunkyman1 regarding your recommendation on The Headhunters, Chameleon, I will check it out you are right sometimes it it quite confusing. what I believed is as long as it sounds good to your taste it's o.k

  • Thanx. Check out Herbie Hancock - Chameleon, Mr Hands LP - Just around the Corner
