@legendariers even though your comment is old, this might help others: with Nintendo system updates, they delete and block all homebrew software from running on your wii. Error 04 is displayed when your wii has detected that bannerbomb is installed and it deletes it. DO NOT UPDATE YOUR WII FROM NINTENDO AFTER SOFTMODDING YOUR WII!!! there was a work around I used to make the wii shop channel update without updating the system. I'm currently on 4.1u

I updated my Homebrew Channel and then I wanted to see if there was anything new in the Wii Shop Channel. I told me I had to update, when I did, I went back to the Homebrew Channel and there wasn't anything there. I went to re-download it with my SD card but it said "Error#04." and it said the files were corrupted. Any help?

@legendariers pooh, when you want the latest version of the wii shop channel you need the latest wii firmware. Not the latest HBC. And with the problem, I never heard that, but what you exactly re-downloaded?

@mkwiigamer I didn't re-download it on my SD card, I went to the SD card file in the Wii and it said the Error. All I really wanted to do was get on RiiVolution but I can't fix the problem. :(

@mkwiigamer I got the Homebrew Channel when my Wii was 4.3. I had the Homebrew Channel 1.0.6 and then updated it to 1.0.8. The same day I updated to 4.4. And *pop* went my Homebrew Channel and RiiVolution Channel.

i got homebrew 1.0.6 .. and my wii is version 4.2U .. its there somethin happen if i update the HBC to 1.0.8 .. beside am gonna install a backup launcher .. what is the best backup launcher ? hope i didn't bother u ^^"

Hey,after all i do some researching, I decided not to update to 1.0.8 after all :(

patched IOS(Darkcorp) was made to become non-fakesign and could interfere with disc loading channel in this new ios58,

also i learnt that if you update new hbc and didn't install ios58 ,your usb all became usb 1,not usb 2 ,that's bad :(

i hope wanin release cIOSx based ios58 after all and all app like triiforce or usb loader gx has new rev that use ios58 based

I installed ios58 successfully and the only thing i saw improved was switching upon devices on the hombrew channel.It doesn't load snes/gba games fast like ios202 did.Or is this just me??

@y34r the questions is ok.No u must not update ios58 to get 1.0.8. Hackmii installer v0.8Bootmii Beta6 HBC 1.0.8 has only some fixes.But real is that: ios58 has an better usb port 2.0 support and if u then install ios58 as cios (custom ios)then you can do some illegal things^^(play game backups better on usb, ...)But if u have Firmware 4.3 on your wii then ios58 exist then u can if u want install it as an Cios.for more questions aske me.=)

i'm still a noob to wiihacking scene though,(bought softmod wii bout a week ago)

but can u confirm what i seem to understand right now is right

1)I'm on 4.1U,so i guess i dont' have ios58 on my wii right now so,I download latest version IOS58 from NUS,packed in .WAD

2)Use wad manager to install it,by use slot 249?

3)after installation,when i use usb loader app,i could use ios 58 for booting game like waninkoko 249/250 , or Hermes 222/223 ?

@y34r u can install it as wad but better is u install it over waninkokos cios installer.And im not perfect in this area but i would say first install cios249.Then install cios58 over waninkokos cios installer.in this app u can then choose ios slot 249 or 250 in this slots u can then install cios58.And if u want to have 4.2 and not 4.3 then update with waninkokos firmware updater 4.2 ;)
