  • Absolutely amazing picture quality and a great knockout win for Hasegawa.

  • hahahah the commentator reminds me of ippo show... IPPOOOOOO MAKUNOCHEEEEEEE!!! hahaha

  • montiel beats the shit out of this "japanes pride" hes so squeshy

  • @gransenescal And Hasegawa was winning the entire round and got caught by the left hook on the last 10 seconds. Seeing how the match went, I think Hasegawa has a very high chance of beating Montiel if they end up fighting each other again. What's the point of even mentioning about that match here? This is a different match.

  • @cruelgrotequeblood Montiel would beat Hasegawa again.

  • @molib2000 Hasegawa is definitely training to become even better than before and if Hasegawa didn't underestimate Montiel just because the round was nearly over, he probably would have won by decision in that previous fight as well. It was a great comeback for Montiel(and you can almost say that he was lucky) but this time, Hasegawa won't make that kind of clumsy miss.

  • I think Montiel is a better boxer, puncher and all around fighter than Hasegawa, also Montiel has been in there with better opposition, Hasegawa hasn't been in the ring with a fighter of the caliber of Montiel meanwhile Montiel has been in there with fighters of Hasegawa's caliber. I see Montiel winning either by TKO or Unanimous Decision.

  • i think montiel is stronger than hasegawa but aside from that, hozumi's speed and skills are far superior than montiel's...i wish the fight will be shown around the world so many boxing fans will recognize hasegawa

  • how i wish japanese boxers get the recognition they deserve if only they would fight in the US. fights exclusively in japan prevent boxing fans from knowing that such great boxers exist. the fact is, US is indeed the boxing capital of the world

  • his wife knocked me out..

  • I love Hasegawa in this.

    That right hook was ridiculous.

    Looked even better in HD!

    Hasegawa vs Montiel up next!

  • I'm looking forward to the fight too. I won't make any comments prior to the fight. The stronger will win!

  • He maybe the next Manny Pacquiao. Go ASIAN!!!. =He reminds me like Pacman when he started as a Pro. He needs to see and ask Freddie Roach to train him to learn more skills.

  • hasegawa needs to come to the USA and fight the elites. I think he'll do just fine.

  • @pooanddoo I would love to see him on Showtime and/or HBO, but with the money Hasegawa and his opponent makes in Japan, it's no wonder Montiel agreed to fight there.. I also hear Hasegawa always mentioning wanting to fight in Vegas, so hopefully one day..

  • Oh wow. That right hook was ridiculous..

and it looked even better in HD :)

    Hasegawa vs Montiel up next!

  • hasegawa vs montiel! then the winner will be challenged by donaire...

  • what the hell tunacao is doing down there? he should fight hasegawa i guess...

  • @jonbal2001

He is in team Hasegawa at the moment, so long as I remember. They train at the same boxing gym now. Tunacao recently captured the OPBF Bantamweight title in South Korea so he probably will earn a shot at a world champ after a couple of times defenses of his OPBF belt.

  • this is high quality tv and samurai skill.

  • @beckytiq wtf?..how is it a shitty quality?...im watching 720p quality and its pretty dang good

  • I dont think manny is on any kind of performance enhancing drugs at all, None. But if he is hasegawa is on the same shit himself. Hasegawa has KOd his last 5 opponents early (2,2,1,1,4).... guy has 12 career KO.....its like paulie M start koing guys out of no where...

  • dammmnnn talk about high def! thanx for the post!

  • HAHa he smiles :)

  • great quality

    but i dnt understand japanese

    PLS answer me

why do japanese always fight world titles in japan ? I havent seen yet a japanese defending his title abroad

dnt they like to be known better and have have higher purse fighting in US?

  • Only in latterly, Nishioka Toshiaki defend & completely iced Jhonny Gonzarez.

Japan is long time No.2 GDP. Boxer gain purse than abroad fight(though its not big money). US top notch boxers goes to Asia? No. Most Germany top boxer fightng in only their country. Pinoy boxer goes abroad like migrant & many of them r westernized. Back stry is totally different from Jpn(not offence).

US give big purse for Hasegawa? No. How many famous boxing site/general media repots Hasegawa's fight?

  • Its few, not much. Although HBO/Showtime give good provision? No, cuz its doesnt pay.

But if hes European who dont fight in US, he's big name yet. US TV offer with good provision. But if boxer fight only in Asia, he dont become bigname, cuz world is still so rotten & shit. Boxing world is same. Whole things are just money & merit/risk & racial issue.

So I want Hasegawa to fight with non-asian big name, in Jpn or Asia(if ultrarich like Macau casino owner offer fight , but its not likely)

  • Since they think to defence more and afraid of risk in case of lost their titlle, large majority of Japanese hadn't been fighting oversea even it would down their worldwide assessment.

Japanese are often conservative people.I don't say that this is proud. but more or less it could be same thing.

I am afraid of my terrible english, thanks.

  • Oh yeah tko with a headbutt. Alvaro Perez was a guy from nicarauga who was undefeated but fought nobody. Dead Bodies. I hope he fights Nishioka. Now that's a real fighter. Fights anyone anywhere.

  • damn, this is very good quality!!

  • @ShamuraiMaster1521 bcoz its in 3D

  • This guy is just fighting dead bodies in japan. Not on my pound for pound list.

  • Alejandro Valdez who hasegawa beat just beat Fernando Montiel by tko and Hasegawa just beat undefeted Alvaro Perez who was ranked 9# by boxrec. Dead bodies?hmm

  • Yeah but fighting in japan with a Japanese promoter. Go figure.

  • Japanese Vs Mexican Ameican

2 Ameican judges and 1 Mexican judge

    And American ref........

    Wow

  • Dec. 18, 2009. WBC world bantamweight champion Hozumi Hasegawa defeated

ranked #9 Alvaro Perez of Nicaragua by TKO

    in 4th round.

  • Comment removed

  • "Hasegawa Hozumi's Knockout Special" & "Track to V10 of Hasegawa Hozumi"

    at Nihon TV site.

    bit . ly / 7wofvt

If Hasegawa ko's Alvaro Perez in 1, it's 3 consecutive 1R KO, ties world record as world title match.

But Perez will keep a lookout at early rounds & he seems durable, so I think fight extend to mid rounds. Of course, Hasegawa ko's Perez with artistic finish. It's 5R.

  • Man, I don't know what kind of technology they are using in Japan, but I am repeatedly watching this video because the quality is so good as well as it being an exciting ko.

  • @tonyman2c its not japan that has better technology America and most of the Western Countries dont want to use the new tech yet and keep using the old shits

  • Hozumi Hasegawa vs. Nonito Donaire

That would awesome!!! If this fight were to happen, I would have to go with Hasegawa.

  • I wanna see that fight.

  • It was a well-timed stoppage by the referee.

Hang on... Japanese vs. Mexican American on a WBC world title bout right? Referee - USA, 3 judges - USA, USA, Mexico. How could this be possible?

  • Let's get Hasegawa over to the States for some recognition! Such a smooth style, really enjoyable to watch and goes for the kill.. the way he set up the first left cross that stunned Rocha was magic, and the right hook (that really should have resulted in Rocha being stopped immediately) was a stunning punch.

  • this dude should come out with a training dvd or something cuz I admire the footwork and handspeed.

  • I have always loved Japanese boxers, I think they are very professional and dedicated always show tremendous heart . It´s a shame they are relinquished to small weight divisions and don´t get the exposure they deserve, Hasegawa is making Japan proud would love to see him vs Agbeko that would be a great fight greetings from Los Angeles

  • MORENO vs HASEGAWA! for a UNIFICATION FIGHT!

  • holy crap that right hook was so fast I could barely see it. God he's really become so damn good recently, he's definitely been on my p4p top ten since his Valdez fight, but this just proves how amazing he's becoming

  • They know that ,Hasegawa is a nice guy who has a excellent skill of boxing and good manners as a man.

And his next match for a title would be at Kobe again on the undercard of aoh vs ??...Damn it !!

  • Can someone fill me in on Japanese etiquette and culture?

How come the boxing spectators aren't booing Rocha?

  • because japanese people dont think about where they are from they care about whether they put their heart into it, japanese fans are seldom prejudice, they look at the match itself

  • That Was An Awesome Right Hook; I Hope To See Him Fight Donaire, Montiel, Agbeko or Arce Soon.

  • Dude, that would be fucking epic!

Donaire vs Hasegawa..the Philippines vs Japan!

  • Jesus that punch was lightning fast

  • Maybe i guess, during this year the next opponent Marez from Mexico as the last title match of his weight devision. after that he is aiming to beat Y.Gamboa..cosidering his promoter Teiken

  • Wow, when did Hasegawa start knocking everyone out in the first and second rounds? He's the best 118 pounder in the world. Great, great fighter! He must have found his power and certainly knows how to use it better than he has in the past!

  • As soon as he KO'd Faccio. After that, he went on a streak and started ruining guys. Stopping dudes that have never been stopped before.

All while doing it wearing Winning gloves. Gloves known for being soft and protective not hard like cleto reyes.

  • buahahhahahaha

    hahahhahahahahahahaha

the japanese are funny- that commentator rocks!!!!!!!! awesome!

This Hasegawa guy is very very good- bring him to America... great fighter

  • Amazing

    From Scotland

  • Hey mate, thanks for your warm comment :) from Japan.

You can find good boxers anywhere on the globe hey. Which Scottish boxers do you recommend by the way? Though we have chances to know about boxers from other countries thanks to pay TV and youtube, but it's always good to see good boxers :D

  • The best bantamweight boxer slot is a battle only between Gerry Peñalosa and this excellent guy, Hozumi Hasegawa. The former should come back down to this division and fight this guy instead of fighting Arce, Montiel, or Carita Lopez.

  • I gave you harold2223 a thumbs down for your comment because a fighter who gets hit flush on the Jaw with all that power the way Rocha did, you're either going down or you'll be feeling your head wondering what 2x4 whacked you upside your head. Hazegawa shows that he's not your typical Japanese fighter. He uses his intelligence and not just his strength and kamikazee attack like most of them. Japanese fighters train hard, but some lack the use of their brain.

  • WOW beautiful quality!

  • This is clearest video I've seen in youtube. The Japanese are doing something right.

  • cmon nestor rocha, we expected more from you. get ur head up and work hard because u will fight for the championship again one day..

  • in the very, very very distant future... hahaha!!

  • We will see what he can do in elite competition he got good moves and i think his though.. but he never face elite fighter...

  • Hasegawa is a real great fighter .. but I think he needs to fight in US and fight an Elite fighter like agbeko, darchinyan, donaire and other elite fighters to get recognize worldwide.

  • Rocha's legs are gone, good call by the referee

  • if hazegawa comes to occident to fight vs. the best bantamweigh he can do a great fight he got speed good legs move and he got punch!! fernando montiel vs. hazegawa must be a very good fight!

  • As a Mexican American I can honestly say this guy is the best 118 lb. fighter in the world.

  • Hi Speed

  • thanks a lot

  • What a high vision!

  • Eerie right hook which also put down Sahaprom, his best performance I've seen.

  • great performance.. i'd say best bantam last 2-3 yrs & probably more 3-4 yrs..

    great!

  • Hasegawa vs JuanMa Lopez will see what can he do against JuanMa Lopez.. if he win anyone from marquez and JuanMa i think he is the best fighter ever come out of Japan.. and he will be recognized around the world..

  • I want to see that fight as well. Here in the US Hasegawa is recognized as the best Bantamweight fighter, but I don't think he'll be the best to "ever come out of Japan" though..

  • Yeah i agree that's why he need to prove a lot and fight those elite fighter out there.. But i don't agree with you in knocking penalosa coz i believe in boxing everything can happen and 1 single punch can change everything in a fight..

  • Well yeah anyone can get knocked out, but some people just don't go down like Penalosa. If Penalosa wasn't getting beaten badly, then Freddie Roach wouldn't have stopped the fight.

  • Coz hes ahead on points.. and even if he won the next 3 round which he will not only he can do is to close the fight the outcome will be the same.. and penalosas power is not enough to knock the younger and stronger fighter..

  • I don't think so.. That would be giving up and showing you have no heart.. Even Freddie said that he's taking too many punches.

  • But i think roach decision to stop the fight is premature.. penalosa should not fight in 122 his too small for 122 his frame is small... and hes old good only for testing new upcomers wahahahaha.....

  • good showing... but rocha was scared of him... not a true test...

he should fight outside japan... one, to gain recognition, and to step up his level of competition.

  • wow

Hasegawa is hoping to raise in the featherweight.

  • if you want to be in elite fighter you should beat an elite fighter.. if you want to become a legend beat a legend.. if you want to be in history fight a historic fights.. great fighters fight great fights..

  • your right but the sad thing is they most of them dont call the shot the legend or the elight are always the one who is calling the shot.

In the case of pacquiao he isnt the one who call lebwaba and barrera, team lebwaba and team barrera are the one who handpick pacquiao knowing that it would be low risk and high reward for them.

  • Yeah true and thats why Hasegawa was going to fight Darchinyan if he won, but he didn't, so it's scrapped. Remember, Hasegawa beat Veerapol to win the title, a guy who had 50 fights and was a champion for 7 years. Hasegawa fought more legitimate top 10 contenders than anyone, so you gotta give him credit for that. Nonito is a good fighter, but Donaire's next fight is against a 13w-3l-1d fighter, so he's gotta step up too... Yes, I saw Penalosa get a bad beating.

  • Nonito is fighting Concepcion coz there is nobody else want to fight him at 115 and 112 but Concepcion is a solid fighter i hope you able to watch his fight with arce.. Nonito is the most avoided fighter in lower weigh coz he has everything height speed power and skill..

  • Well, I think Nonito is fighting Concepcion because he can fight him for a vacant title and get revenge for Banal.. I don't know if he is avoided, but it could have something to do with promoters, cuz they usually decide who they want their guy to fight.. Darchinyan wanted a rematch, but his promoter didn't want it.. But Nonito is a good fighter nonetheless.

  • i think his avoided coz there are 4 fighter offered a fight for donaire only concepcion step on the plate thats why his fighting concepcion..

  • "Yes, I saw Penalosa get a bad beating." I dont think its a bad beating coz penalosa was fighting back against the young and bigger fighter lopez. he was just out sized but never out boxed..

  • Dude, Penalosa was getting beaten up bad! He was outsized, out boxed and just beaten.. Juanma landed 444 punches on Gerry! If that's not a bad beating, I don't know what is.. Penalosa has a great chin, but that was a bad beating. I actually wanted Penalosa to win.

  • hey dude you say 444 landed yeah they all land but were do you think they land i dont believe it land solid on his body and chin it landed in his elbow and many of them on penalosas glabs coz if it land all solidly penalosa will got knock out.. he cant even knock penalosa out and Lopez take some serious punch from penalosa.. it was a good fight..

  • Juanma threw 1020 punches and landed 444 at Gerry and the punches landed pretty solidly. It doesn't mean Penalosa would get knocked out, because has a solid chin, but he was getting beat up bad.

  • I dont believe on that coz Just 1 punch is enough to knock penalosa out.. if its clean and it will really connect watch the pacman vs hatton fight...

  • I don't think Penalosa can get knocked out, because he never has and can take a great punch. I watched the Pac fight live, but Hatton on the other hand was knocked out by Mayweather and was knocked down lot's of times..

  • Yeah, I agree. That is why Hasegawa and many other fighters from around the world wanna fight in the US. Pacquiao gained recognition after he came to the US and fought Ledwaba. BTW Pacquiao is one of my favorite fighters, so I'm not trying to say Japanese fighters are better than Fillipino's or vice versa. I like fighters for their skill and how entertaining they are.

  • They want to fight in US coz its a neutral territory unlike in japan fighting in japan will result to robbery specially if it goes the distance and also the racial discrimination in japan are very high. They don't respect Pilipino fighter that's why many pilipino fighter prepare to fight in US.

  • Thats not true at all. Nestor Rocha fought in Japan 3 times and there have been many Fillipino's that are/were trained by Japanese trainers like Jesse Maca, Suzuki Cabato(Nolito Cabato), etc and fought in Japan... I think Japan has the least amount of robberies, because I have never heard robbery from anyone that fought in Japan, Wayne McCullough, Martin Castillo, Alexander Munoz to name a few Champs all won fair decisions there. I seen as much robberies in the US as Europe! I just depends.

  • nice shot but i like to see him fight the likes of peñalosa or montiel and nonito donaire..

  • I don't know about Penalosa and Donaire, because Penalosa is on his way down and seems like he might retire soon and Nonito is 2 weight classes lower than Hasegawa. Montiel is the most logical out of the 3 you mentioned, but at this point he's not even a big threat.

  • Nonito is moving up so if he want a real test why not fight them also even penalosa is way down he still a best possible opponent did you watch the penalosa vs lopez fight nonito is being avoided by Japanese fighter in flyweight.

  • yeah but i think, fight with nonito is still possible cause he has a height and can still bulk and gain some muscle. It will be a hell of a fight

  • Don't get me wrong I like Donaire a lot, but it might not be realistic to jump 2 weight classes to fight the best guy in the division.. I think Hasegawa should fight Marquez.

  • I agree to you he should fight marquez that would a real test for hasegawa if he beat marquez i should say his an elite and the real deal from japan ever produce...

  • Look, there have been many elite fighters/hall of famers from Japan like Fighting Harada, Tatsuyoshi, etc. But You gotta remember, Hasegawa gets a lot of money to fight in Japan and he wants to fight in the US for recognition and to fight the best and get less money.

  • I don't believe that fighting in japan you get more money coz pacquio earn million of dollars in every fight..

  • No, Hasegawa get's more money in Japan. If Hasegawa fights in the US, he's not gonna get Millions right away. LIke Manny only started to get Millions after he beat Barerra.
