  • He's so much more of a guitarist now.

  • Ritchie dances medievally with his guitar while playing. THAT'S how much feeling he puts into this.

  • Ritchie Blackmore is the only guitar player I know who gets better and better. He plays with his heart and he sais things with his music nobody can say with words. Thats so beautiful and I think that is something he learned after Deep Purple and Rainbow.

  • Hey everyone,

hope you like my version of Sir Ritchie´s latest instrumental ;)

  • I will learn play this...

  • Beautiful song

Thank you very much for posting

  • Ritchie is best guitar player ever

  • Blackmore's Night Rules OK

  • Weeeell :) I figured it out. :) :)

  • Hello, Good People!

What is the name of the song on the page "Blackmore's Night Minstrel Hall"

    Thanks in advance

  • Amazing :O The best song ever :D

  • i dont now what to say!

  • WONDERFUL!!!!

  • perfect

  • BRAVISSIMO!!!

  • What guitar is that?

  • a Fender Telecoustic

  • BRAVO!!!

  • Great song!

  • Absolute brilliant. Blackmore is God.

  • Ritchie is like a fine wine-he keeps getting better with age.

  • It's no smoke on the water but I suppose it's ok...

  • ritchie is much more than just smoke on the water and deep purple

  • that was sarcasm, dude...get it?

  • haha, ok =)

  • @mnunezper ritchie is much more than smoke on the water, but richie with deep purple was even more...awesome band

  • @zaova88

Mr. Blackmore is an amazing musician artist at whatever he does. I do love Deep Purple too, but there's no disregarding this.

  • super!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful music !! Phalaïna

  • è un divino

  • Grande Ritchie, a me piace molto piu' in queste vesti che quando era nei Deep Purple.

    E' molto piu' raffinato.

  • Thank, Darkhorse.., for the plug for that DVD, I'll have to check it out. I've got all of Rainbow's music releases, but not the DVD's. I do have one of the live videos from the 80's.

I didn't say BTW, that Ritchie didn't know how to play fingerstyle back then, cuase he learned as a kid already, I just meant he's adapted it to Renaissance specifically as opposed to just your "ordinary" Classical which was what he 1st learned fingerpicking with according to his own words.

  • BTW, since not all Renaissance pieces were played this way, being that many were played with a pick (plectrum is the word for it from that era), Ritchie's continued playing many pieces with one. Generally, the rule of thumb

is that when playing with backup musicians as with his band, a pick is used, but when self accompanying, then it's not. Of course there are exceptions.

  • Like I've said before Ritchie's THE most versatile guitar god out there. Notice he plays this piece fingerstyle without missing a note, not something that should be easy for someone who usually has played with a pick, since he was "corrupted" as he's put it by Rock n' Roll. Nonetheless, Ritchie's not only

built another repertoire since switching to Renaissance, but has developed his fingerstyle technique to adapt as well.

  • Actually his fingerstyle technique was developed long ago. On the the DVD Rainbow Live in Munich in 1977 there are several spots where he improvs something melodic on a clean electric, and he usually fingerpicked.

  • What music can do to the senses many times words are best left out.

    Instrumentals solves all.

  • bien bien!!

    vean mis videos

    saludos!!"!

  • theres so much feeling to this, the music alone makes the mind wonder in ancient medieval times.

  • Rithie still one of the best!!! SUPERB perfomanse, great THEME!!!!

  • I saw their last concert in the USA tour on October 30th, Oh man I shat bricks. Haha It was great, They're incredibly talented.

  • Am just wondering who was in this line-up of the group besides Ritchie and Candice.

  • What a magical song.

i like heavy metal and classical music, most people think its weird, but i like what i like and i dont care about what anyone else thinks, you should do the same.

plus, blackmore rock and this instrumental is brilliant, anyone know where i can find more medieval music?

  • BiffExploder i've got tons of medieval music on my computer. i could give you advice how to get it, but it would be better maybe not here on forum but maybe mail...

Meantime you can try band as Corvus Corax,Schelmish-german and exellent, In Extremo, Wolgemut, Wolfenmond

  • Hey man want me ot tell you more medieval song go on youtube or limwire write Blackmore's Night. the best osng i sugest is Ariel,Way to Mandalay,Celtic Guitar,Wish you were here,Fires at Midnight. you wil lenjoy these i assure you

  • Tele shaped acoustic

  • the point is that he have already done that a million times

  • I would like to see you trying. Most of my medieval friends train twice a week their combat styles. ;o)

I don`t have to hear hardrock all the time to feel cool. I like this stuff too.

  • great song

  • long live blackmore....he is no sell out for sure....he will always rock...even more so now with acoustic guitars and lutes..he has my respect

    VictimofSTUPIDITY.

Why is it that people like you can't accept that after 40 yrs playing rock music, Ritchie wants to move on and do something different..I don't doubt that if he WAS stil playing rock, you'd say, what's he doing playing that stuff at 62?

Ritchie has moved on..maybe you should too.

  • Thanks for uploading this, it's so difficult to hear this stuff in the radio.

I love this band... I pretty much doat on medieval and renaissance music, and it's hard to find. It's great that Mr. Blackmore has graced this type of music with his ability at the guitar. His playing makes the songs better.

  • why? why? balckmore noooo!

  • thanks norty....

  • does anybody know Ritchie's e-mail adress

  • Lol!

  • long live blackmore night... long live blackmore night... absolutely brilliant

  • this is awsome, not enough people play such beautifull music anymore.

  • AT Birmingham he was awesome , Blistering Fender Strat' on Ariel and breathtaking long acoustic solo on Fires At Midnght . He did 2 hours + and the atmosphere all night was electric . Yes Ritchie could take the easy way out.I personally respect his integrity because he started again with small venues with new music and a new audience .Ritchie's music and guitar playing is still the best you just have to except his choice to go in a new musical direction .

  • for the first time i read a logical comment, thanks dude

  • Thanks very much , it's just how i feel , after giving us 40 years of the best Rock around , i feel he's earned the right to do something different

  • And who better to explore more musical avenues than Ritchie fucking Blackmore?

  • Yeah , it would have been much easier and more profitable to plunder the back catelogue like 'Purple do now but thats not what Ritchie is all about , he likes a challenge , has a low bordom threshold , and refuses top live on past glories in my opinion .

  • do you ever think blackmore is just taking the piss? Oh I have a joke for you: What do you call a room full of dissappointed Deep Purple & Rainbow fans.......A Blackmore's Night gig of course!

  • Be dissappointed if you wish. I am a fan of medieval music, and I love this guy for finding all these songs, making them even catchier, and playing them with his astounding ability. I am also disappointed that I'll never go to a Janis Joplin concert, but I've learnt to live with it. I wouldn't take it against an artist that he's doing something different.

  • Greatest guitarist who ever lived. Eddie Van who?

  • I have no words to describe what I´m watching. Absolutely fantastic!

  • this would be better without the fucking stupid dancing witch

  • I rhink she is drunk, I love Drunken Witch, I hop I'll mary with a witch...

The song is pretty but there are songs mor interesting in Blackmore's Night and in Blackmore's carieer (DP)

  • god yes, that pissed me off

  • LOL. I think that's his wife. She's seen a bit too much Stevie Nicks.

  • No I don't mean his wife,i mean the dark shape slithering around the stage like a ghost.

By the way Candice is a better singer and writer than Stevie Nicks will ever be..better looking too.

  • I think it is Candy. Look.. Same general size and shape... long blonde hair. You can see her face at 2:01 and I think its the same dress underneath that she was wearing the rest of the show. At the end of his playing he points to her.

  • Well he would point to someone who's been " dancing " to his tune..anyway I have it on good authority that Candy was taking a pee while this tune was being played.

  • ritchie your an absolute disrace.thankyou for doing a miserly 1 hour 10 min show in reading tonight, hardly bothering to play and no encore.i'm not sure i can stomach anymore of your childish antics getting upset cause your dinner was not right was the popular rumour.pathetic.your the best guitarist in my view ever but you are totally disrespectful and rude to your fans.

  • Even Tull/Ian Anderson doesn't do this crap anymore.

    Pussy whipped motherfucker!!!!!!

  • Tulls best albums were the folk ones :P

  • what the hell are you talking about Tull's last tour was acoustic!

  • did they dress like a bunch of pussy whipped elves?

  • who jethro tull? nah not really.....close though

  • amazing music !! ...i wished..i can also play guitar like u...:D

  • Awesome!!! Very medieval, very melodic and very tastefull... What a talented guitarist!

  • Qué discazo shadow of the moon!

  • you're watching the best guitarist of all times

  • awesome!

  • Blackmore is the REAL guitar GOD!

  • I love anything Ritchie plays, and this is great also!

  • In my book Blackmore is second to none.

  • It's Blackmore.

    Nuff Said!

  • are you the same rivera from the Malmsteen forum???
