  • i remember the stories my mom told me about Andrew...i was born 2 months later lol so it's one of those moment when you look back and you feel happy that your alive to this day ^_^

  • boy was i pissed, i just got that game a few months prior

  • i was also playing super nintendo at the time it was going on it killed my first copy of top gear ,

  • i was in it !

  • i wasnt even born

  • i was 6 months old......

  • I remember when I was in 1st grade I read a book on the storm.…

  • Andrew was a small storm and Katrina was a huge one,so I don't see how you can compare what they would've done.Andrew's winds were stronger, but Katrina was a cat.3.If Katrina had mantained strength as a cat.5,she would have been 10 times worse than she was, along with the surge she had and the damage she done on the Misssissippi coast.I just don't get saying Andrew would have been worse on New orleans, when Andrew hit Lousiana as a cat.3 too,and didn't do nearly the damage.

  • I lived in a million dollar home after Andrew hit. We made our fire in the middle of the living room......you know....there was no roof........yep,that place got mest up.Same year my wife diforced me..1992 :)

  • I remember this storm all too well. I was only 11 years old.

  • thumbs up

  • i had to do a report on hurricane andrew

  • Winds in andrews center of impact at least the gust got up to 220 MPH . from what I heard .

  • @Thallis69 Clocked winds sustained for more than a minute at 196mph. The airbase in Homestead picked up 215mph gusts. A friend of mine in the airforce told me about the damage. I lived in Lakeland Fla at the time. Andrew did not loose strength when it hit land, like others.

  • I moved from miami in 2008 but ill tell you all 1 thing , if your power goes out in a future hurricane or ya just want to get out of the house , Donnovans bar located at 129 st on nw 7th ave has generators and is open durring all hurricanes . i dont know why, but they are always open all night for jhurricanes .

  • this happened on my mom and dads honeymoon on sanibel island they got some awesome phottos they didnt leave they stayed through it then stoped at a truck stop in dade countey and all the truckers were bringing stuff to the airports so they knew the flights info they actually got on the last plane out of south flordia

  • i lived through it, i remember it like it was yesterday

  • how can i use this video for a project?

  • Katrina was a CAT 3 at landfall. Hurricane Andrew was a CAT 5 at landfill in Fl and a CAT 3 in La.

Andrew and Katrina were 2 different kinds of storms. Andrew was like a giant tornado and Katrina was like a giant tidal wave/flood.

  • true...katrina's damage was also due to all those faulty leveys (sp?) Not as much flooding would have happened if Katrina hit florida. If andrew hit where Katrina did...New Orleans who?

  • my real nam is andrew

  • hurricane katrina costed 81 billion!

  • Hurricane andrew was a stronger hurricane, katrina was a 3

  • i was born on the same day and my name is andrew top that

  • cool my name is andrew to!

  • My baby was born on the 15th anniversary of Andrew and that's what I named him.

  • no no no katrina cost 84 billion andrew cost 26 billion

  • katrina was a category 5

  • it was a cat. 3 when it hit!

  • It (andrew) was a 5 when it hit, its winds reached 165 miles per hour when it first made landfall in florida.

  • Force 5 Hurricane? aren't they called category 5 hurricane.

  • who gives a fuck?

  • yep and tornadoes are fujita "F"

  • yes it is!

  • thank you for the upload

  • I WILL NEVER FOR GET THIS RIGHT HERE

  • There are so many errors in this video it made me laugh.

  • i am talking about Hurricanes and Tornadeos in my class at school. I thought I might should just look it up on youtube but, this isnt really what I was looking for. I am looking up something else.

  • The voiceover has it wrong - Andrew was the THIRD category five hurricane to hit the US in the 20th century. The first was the Labor Day hurricane of 1935 that hit the middle and upper keys - this storm still holds the record for the lowest barometric pressure of a storm at landfall in the US. Some sustained wind estimates have been as high as 200+ mph - certainly they were much higher than 165.

  • You are correct, narrator didn't do their homework, good catch!

  • Thanks for the upload, this will be a big help for an upcoming music video I'll keep you posted =)
