I love my Anaheim Ducks, I can't IMAGINE them moving...
I feel for Winnipeg--An aheim packs the arena, the players are good, playoffs Finals, a Cup...players like Kariaya and Selanne and Giguere and Perry and Getzlaf and Hiller...we have a real hockey culture.
PHOENIX: NO!
ATLANTA: NO!
FLORIDA: NO!
NASHVILLE: NO!
WINNIPEG : YES!
QUEBEC: YES!
Bring Back those Jets! Nords too! Phoenix is failing, Chipman has the offer and arena...bring 'em back!
@riderfan47 umm the whalers situation is worse, i mean they were always shitty and the canes are much better than the whalers ever were while the coyotes are worse than the jets ever were, like i said, the people of winnipeg did not want it, it was that asshole bettmans doing
@riderfan47 that is your opinion, and at the same time, the people did NOT support the move just to let you know, if anything its hartford, that doesnt deserve to have a team again
Well I wouldn't mind if a team moved to KC. It would give Quebec a few more years to build a new rink to get the team after it draws 5000 fans a game in Kansas City
i think it's very possible the jets could come back the population of winnipeg almost 700,000and the mts can hold 15000 seats it is expanadable by another 1500 seats 1 day they will come back
trust me winnipeg can suport an nhl franchise for instance the canucks play at gm place wich holds 18630 seats but before gm place the played at the pacific colaseaum wich omly holds 16300 it is smaller than the mts centre and the cancucks have never had any money problems even when tey were at the pacific colaseam and the canucks have had a sellout game every game for the last 2 or 3 seasons and if team can do it so can another
Agreed, perhaps Kansas City for a team. Tampa should be on that list. If Tampa and Carolina win the cup and still no one cares, then clearly it didn't work. Winnipeg wants to contend for the Stanley Cup. Thats what its all about. The Jets were getting there with their last team.Had potential to contend. Winnipeg breathes hockey.I still see people wearing Jets shirts and jerseys every day.Thats the kind of city you want for NHL. One that still supports a franchise that hasnt played in 12 years.
phoenix doesnt desurve a hockey team, they would be better off back in canada, nobody comes to their games, nobody watches the game, they go for the cheerleaders and beer, i hear
We have got a pro hockey league in britain and i watch the nottingham panthers and we are knowledgeable about the game and get good crowds(the best in the league every year)despite having 2 soccer teams in the city. I don`t live in nottingham, but i travel 4 hours by train to most home games coz i love the game and the panthers.
The Avco World Trophy was the championship trophy of the original World Hockey Association (1972-1979). The trophy's naming rights were sold to the former Avco Corporation (a name originally derived from "Aviation Company"), a defence contractor who bought the rights to advertise their consumer finance division.
Congrats Winnipeg.
And up yours Bettman!!!!! BWAHAHAHA!

@slimv29
The Hurricanes are good primarily because of the salary cap. The Carolinas do less of a hockey culture than Canada has of a basketball culture.
But I agree with you that the Jets should go back to Winnipeg. They deserve better than just an AHL team.

@riderfan47 dude, two is enough for ontario, and if youd rather give the states a team than in winnipeg, then thats just foolish man

personally I hope Winnipeg will get a new team first though, even if I am from Quebec. I would probably root for it over the habs

captancanuck85 3 years ago
even at 15003 seats the MTS center would be fine. 15003 fans a game paying their tickets is much better than 13000 where 3000 gets them for free
xlibman 3 years ago
i agree 15003 is fine but still i would rather have a 16500 seat arena than 15000 you hava better chance financially that way
captancanuck85 3 years ago
yeah you're right. Might help too in case dollar went under 60 cents or something too

of course, the mts shouldnt be a bad arena for the nhl, i mean, hamilton doesnt need a team, and phoenix just doesnt work

I agree!! It looks like these are GREAT fans!
BRING BACK THE HARTFORD WHALERS!!
Carolina sucks!!

What you said, makes no sense at all. How can you say you are a coyotes fan, yet you want the team to leave town?

we don't want the Coyotes. keep them there. We want to beat the Coyotes. Rivalry. Phoenix - Winnipeg rivalry would be so awesome.

I just hope I am around to see Winnipeg get back in the NHL. I will travel my rear up to Canada to catch a game in season 1 back.
