  • @yourtubesteak: Why even compare the two MUTANTS bands??! That's crazy. They came from two totally different worlds! And they are both great!! I love the Detroit MUTANTS, and their totally classic 7" records. But, I also saw the SF MUTANTS live, and it was one of the greatest and most fun shows I've ever seen in my life! Don't be negative dude.

  • I'm good friends with Brendan Earley's daughter...my heart is beating like crazy I'm so excited because I actually got to see him a few times

  • @yourtubesteak The Mutants from Detroit were not that good...this Mutants are the best!

  • @theonlytruepunk Come on...the Detroit Mutants had one good song and were just your typical rock and roll band...unlike the great Detroit bands, like the 5 or the UP...(I am not going to mention the Stooges). I love the SF Mutants, just sayin...

  • I remember in 1980 rolling into town as a roadie with some LA bands during the Western Front event, and camping out with Sally and Sue in their warehouse flop near the Transbay Terminal. Sue Mutant had an especially annoying personality, especially when fueled with cheap alcohol. Having to listen to her hysterically laughing when I was puking my guts out due to food poisoning at some local Chinese restaurant was the closest I ever came to tossing somebody out of a window...

  • The drummer of the Mutants - Dave Carothers - is having an art show at Brownies Vintage in Berkeley, CA the entire month of Sept. 08

    Opening Reception: Sept 12th 6-9pm

Dave will be there & they will be giving away free stuff to the first 20 people.

  • This could have easily gotten on the "Live at CBGB" album.

  • xsouzetsu:

You can buy mutants' album at: sfmutants website

and you can buy this entire film "louder, shorter, faster" as a dvd at: researchpubs website

  • Where can I find an album to buy?! I can't find anything at all :|

  • Good to see the old band again. It was controlled chaos on stage. One time at Mabuhay, Sally passed out and fell off the stage head first. Luckily it was only a two foot stage.

  • Is this Flipper?

  • HA HA HA! (It's the Mutants)

  • The first time I heard this was in 1979 on Rodney on the Roq and fucking loved it...oh yeah, I still do. It is so fucking annoying in a wonderful way.

  • That's funny, I still have the cassette I recorded this song on from Rodney's show. If I wasn't at a gig on a sunday night ( we had some good cheap gig specials on Sunday nights in L.A.back then like 4 bands for 5 bucks or something like that)or if I was locked up in teen ward,I would record every Rodney show I could. What would be real funny if it was the same night. It still can be a small world.

  • I wish I would have saved the tapes I made from Rodney's shows. Those were great times. Seemed as if every weekend there was a great gig to go to. I sure do miss those chaotic days.

  • TOO GREAT FOR WORDS! It was the best era for the true Punk Rock!!! Thank u Joysstick !!!

  • j-j-j-j-j-j-j This is brilliant . one of the greatest, most underrated punk bands of all time. forget the histrionics, the arrogance and the macho shit...this is what real punk rock is all about to me. I live in australia but if these guys reform again let me know so i can plan a trip to the states exclusively to see the show! good-fucking-night!

what a unholy trinity of singers. These tunes cannot be beat. more ! More! MORE!!
