What i want to know is how much do Therapy Sessions cost, when you are trying to get ur Certificate to allow you to start T and Hormones etc. I Have no insurance, and wanted to know how much is it, bc im ready to start This whole process of Transitioning. Please Responde TC28Cole :) Thanx
@danlublock Honestly it depends on where you go. I went to Howard Brown in Chicago and they use a sliding scale fee which is completely income based. Check what therapists are in your area and ask if any of them use a sliding scale, then cross check which ones are certified in gender related therapy. Also depending on your state you might not even need a therapist's go ahead to get hormones I know in IL you no longer need it if you can find a Dr. willing to give you a prescription.
@TC38Cole Man thanx for writting back! :) I never get responses. One last question. How can i find out if in my state i need to go to a Threrapist or not to get the go ahead for hormones? Where can i research that at?
@danlublock A good place to start is T-Vox.org, click on law topics. Another option is to google the "requirements for transitioning in" what ever your state is. It's a bit trickier to do, but you can also go to your states website for their specific laws regarding transition. A gender center or Queer Outreach Center is another good place to ask. Hope that helps you out!
i already get told im somewhat of a "dick" because i say things bluntly and when something pisses me off i tend to let people Know. hopefully once my estrogen production is shut down i will get that male ability to just "brush it off" but i feel like since i used to have anger issues, it might only aggravate that shit in the beginning. since my therapist is free i will continue seeing him once on T for the first 6 months or so until i feel like i can control my moods on my own.
I don't know if this was in any of the other comments, as I'm lazy. BUT They have uh, disposable razors which I love hard. Like, a bag of...50 or whatever for 6 dollars. I have used four...in a year. Maybe because I don't shave enough, but uh, it's worth it and saves a lot of money.
hey dude. im biologically female, but im considering transitioning. this may be an awkward question, but im really curious. i hear in between your legs it gets bigger. i don't mean hair, like you actually grow something. is this true? about how big does it get? or does that depend on the person? thx lol sorry again for the awkwardness
@AnimalAnimeFan Yes most people do experience somewhat significant genital growth, but the amount of growth does depend on the person as well as other personal characteristics like genetics, and the age that they start hormone therapy, and how big they were before starting hormones. Most guys grow at least a half inch to an inch, some grow more, pumping after about 6 months on T is supposed to help with growth. Hope that answers your question.
I think I said it in a vid or comment somewhere, but I know of 3 people whose heads and hands got bigger on T. I think one person told me their feet got wider. It doesn't happen overnight of course, but it can happen. Here's hopin'.....
@TC38Cole my head is already huge. part of that was due to the fact that i had a brain anomaly at birth [which hopefully T doesn't re-awaken] but i feel like i already have a male brain. my hands and feet are already large so i'm going to look like an Orangutan... great!
Oh and my head is alot bigger already! The headaches were pretty nasty, but i think they've passed now. I'm having trouble getting used to how hairy my thighs are! It's a little disturbing!
Once you realize that your pubic hair now goes from your groin to your toes, you pretty much learn to ignore it LOL. The other option is to shave/wax and I don't know about you but that seems more time intensive than just learning to ignore it! At least once the headaches pass you can just buy bigger hats or refit adjustable ones, so that's a perk. And better late than never on finding vids, right?
Razor refills are SO expensive, it's unbelievable! I have both wet razor and an electric razor. I prefer using the wet razor (probably because it's a novelty), but the electric razor is just as close a shave.
This is a really good video, shame i didnt watch it sooner!
thats the same thing my doctor gave me. im fifteen not on t an i have acne not as bad since that stuff, but a lot for a biolocial female. but i think i have elevated t.
I'm glad you found it informative! I had to learn most of this junk on my own and that was not easy. Anytime I can help someone by sharing what I have learned makes the struggles I had along the way worth more. It's that whole you'll laugh about this later kind of thing. Thanks for watching!
I'm not sure if it happens to everyone, but mine did, and I know 2 other guys who had the same thing happen to them. We all went up 1-2 hat sizes. I don't know if that will help with sunglasses, best of luck though!
The up side is you skip menopause! LOL I also think it helps starting later because you are more aware of your emotions and how they are changing. Generally the older we are the better the handle we have on how we interact with people and can recognize when we should let their bad behavior slide. The downside would have to be some changes seem to be milder, like facial hair & vocal depth. I only got half an adams apple, but it could all just be genetics too, better late than never though right?
I am very glad you've made these videos even though I'm not on injections it's helped me to understand a bit of what's been going on even on suppliments. Thank you!
I don't have hardly any chest hair, like maybe 10 on each pec. I don't think my headaches were from dehydration as all I drank at the time was water, and about a gallon a day at that! But it is good to consider other factors as well. Knowledge IS power, especially when it comes to your health/transition. Suddenly I'm thirsty...; D I'm glad you've been covering this stuff too! Everyones is different so the more experiences on here the better!
Great video man! I thought I was loosing my mind, because I can't hold a consistent thought to save my life not to mention expressing it lol..glad to know that's normal
With an electric you can totally shave over acne since it doesn't lob off your skin like a regular razor does. That's the main reason I use and recommend using electric razors over standard ones, especially if you have any sort of acne.
ok now im worried...i already have plenty of hair on the back of my hands and on my knuckles and yea hobbit feet ive always had that. O.O hell in a hand bag
Well not everyone gets hairy, it's genetic really. I know plenty of guys, trans and bio, who aren't hairy at all. Then again I know some who look like throwbacks to neanderthals...my sister pointed out that I have more leg hair than her husband...but he has a better beard, some guys have high voices, bio and trans, some don't. Personally I only got half an adams apple, which sucks in my opinion. Wish we could pick and choose the effects of T!!!
hey thats what my doctor gave me for acne
