Its so crazy...after 25 years finally I found this song...a lot of memories with this song when I was in high school...thank you whitney, we love you so much....rest in peace, sister....
One of Whitney's best songs and an underrated gem. I love this song takes me back to the 80's era. This is my favorite Whitney Song her vocals are brilliant. Timeless 80's classic.
i never understood why they had it as a b side to the 45 record. I heard it and wondered this is a great beautiful song why in the world did they not include it on the main album of her's. i found it at the tower record store.
This song just brings me the greatest memories of my life. I heard this songs years ago, but couldn't find it anywhere..Good thing I found it here in YT. Whitney, your on Top of my list.
one of Aristas biggest mistake , not releasing this as a U.S. single. Everyone that heard it or hears it for teh first time now wonders how they missed it. Like "All At Once" It is a fan classic.
actually "Moment of Truth" first appeared as the B side of "Didn't We Almost Have It All" in 1987. The CD single I have for "Exhale" doesn't have this song at all. It does have another unreleased song "Dancing On The Smooth Edge" though.
I pretty sure this song appears on her first album. I heard it when I was about 18 years old; I liked it then and I like it even more now. Beautiful Song!
Moment of Truth didn't appear on any album of hers; it was released as the B side of her hit I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me). Whitney's first album (self-titled debut) was released in 1985; her second album (which was titled, Whitney) came out in 1987. I Wanna Dance..... was on the 1987 album, but, again, Moment of Truth was the B side of I Wanna Dance....., but not on the album.
@rodgermourtagh I think this song is a bit too MOR; it lacks that catchy hook or ultra powerful voice her real hits have, so I feel the b-side is where it's best left as.
Hmmm, My apologies, but I have to disagree. I read reviews here saying that this song should have been released on Whitney's '87 album, and that it deserves to be re-released sometime.
Is this song from one of the 80s albums? i know it's on the B-side of "Exhale," but it sounds so...80s. It sounds like it could be from the 1987 Whitney album.
It is not on an 80s album of hers, and was not on the B side of Exhale. It was the B side of her I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me) single from 1987.
@Matto2t Thank you. I believed they should have left it on the album though. I hate when beautiful songs are left off of amazing albums, like "For All Time" being excluded from Thriller and "There for me" being excluded from Mariah Carey's Rainbow.
tekena, 1 naija?? How body?? yes heard it in 87 sef, it was from 87, her 2nd album. Was her best song to me..Reminds me oof form 2 in udss days back then man..Miss those times. I have it on the shoop shop single. The song na timeless gem.
Moment of Truth was from 1987. It was released as the B-side of Whitney's "I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)" single, but was not released on her Whitney album. Hope this helps! ;)
1. Whitney did sing "Shoop Shoop". It is actually called "Exhale Shoop Shoop." There is a memorable line in the song: "Shoop, shoop, shoop, Shoop be-doop, shoop, shoop." The song begins "Everyone falls in love sometime, Sometimes it's wrong, and sometimes it's right."
2. The "Moment of Truth" song did appear on the "Exhale Shoop Shoop" single CD. The single CD actually had 3 songs on it: Exhale Shoop Shoop, Moment of Truth and Do You Hear What I Hear?
Gosh, this was always my favorite Whitney song! I remember this song from that 'B' side of the tape you've mentioned here! Wonder how this one did not get much airtime? It's still amazing! Very emotional when I hear it!
I am absolutely CRAZY about this song! Been like that since it first came out. It's a major pain in the ass finding it as an MP3 though - not even ITunes carries it.
I now have 20 diffferent vinyl 45's of Whitney I could use in her jukebox- all 12 of her '80s singles, plus IYBT, MNINS, SSB, Miracle, IWALY, IEW, Run To You, and Exhale!
I can't believe this song is hardly ever referred to anywhere - it is a great song - and it was the tilte of her '87 tour - I have great memories of this song - campaing to give it the recognition it deserves
I really really like this song. I heard it for the first time ever sometime in January this year (2009) on the radio. Then I heard it for a second time 2 days ago on February 23, 2009 again on the same radio station. Her voice sounds so cool mellow, sexy, timeless (ageless) and inviting in this song, I think she can still definitely sing this song and still do justice to it and sound the same today.
It is one of the few songs she can still sound the exact same way if she sung it today. It is not really a hard song. And the song has a wonderful timeless (ageless)up tempo-ish beat. I hope she sings this song live on stage in 2009 and at her future concerts and performances.
They gave this some airplay in Milwaukee on the adult contemp. stations. but it went nowhere on the charts! Probablly because it was a b-side (not a single) But it's my favorite Whitney song!
Me too. 20 years since I've heard this song, but never forgot it. It got a lot radio play in 1987-88. I can't understand why she didn't release it on CD.
This is a beautiful song by Whitney Houston & its one of the songs that you could play again & again. It should have been one of Whitney Houston's biggest hits cos she sings it so beautifully & like all her songs no other singer could sing this song better than Whitney Houston can.
everyone, thank you for your positive comments and for listening to this wonderful song
i have always felt that whitney should "re-release" this song as a single, without any changes to it, just "re-release" the original track but do it today, in th year 2008
i know that if she were to release it again, it would immediately jump to the top of the charts
I agree with you. I felt the same way (and still do). Hopefully, Whitney or the folks at Arista will re-release this song again sometime soon, and get it away from B-side status.
I like this! Thank you! :)
