whether they' re prescribed drugs or not he is obviously overly medicated and the doctor's he had gave him too much! This is not Elvis speaking in a normal state of mind. I will alway's love him no matter what he did after all he was only a man and a talented and awesome man RIP ELVIS
these concerts were a total disaster lmao out of all the time he was on stage he barely sang more than 25 minutes total. all he really did was talk shit and stuff. i love elvis but god he was way off the wall after this concert he was forced to stay home till about march 1975 lol
Ah people who say - He wasn't on drugs, just prescriptions.... THOSE ARE F'ing DRUGS people. Elvis was drugged up on stage many times.
He is the KING though and all hail the King.
Elvis fans should watch two movies - Bubba Ho-Tep which is a bit comedy and horror but has a great and touching Elvis story to it. Elvis meets Nixon is another great movie.
with all due respect... i yet dont believe this audio because now days theres alot of editing software that will trick your mind up believe it or not. So is there evidance of video footage of this of elvis speaking in concert?
@VOXS2 Unfortunately, I don't know any footage of this show, only pics. But this bootleg comes from the years 1990s. And even before, there was an audience recording of it available on a CD called "Broken Finger". Moreover, the song "Trying To Get To You", coming from this show, has been officially released on the official FTD CD called "Dragon Heart", as a bonus track... You'll find more informations about it on the website "Elvis Is Still Active In Norway" ;)
I love Elvis as much as anyone, have most every song he cut, and much live. But I'm sorry, he's drugged here. It really isn't funny but sad. I listened to this, part 2, & another where he's going on about how he isn't "strung out". Well he may not be strung out, but he's clearly drugged. He isn't Elvis. His words are slurred, his speech stilted, his personality is not normal Elvis. Watch other clips like his MSG press conf in '72 where you truly do see a charming, funny and quick-witted Elvis.
Elvis was and always will be the greatest entertainer of all time. He was a kind, generous man who loved making his fans happy. Some of those around him took advantage of his generosity. and kindness. No matter what his faults may have been, above all else he was a human being. He endured so much bad criticism throughout his life. He has the larger fan base than any other entertainer. We will always love and miss him.
OMG! For some peoples Elvis never take drugs and was never down from drugs.
These peoples are very funny! I have to laugh about those peoples. Elvis was not God, he was only Elvis. No street drugs but drugs. Clearly you can hear that Elvis is on drugs here.
@musicfriend01 It has been said that Elvis did prescription drugs. That is true. But, in no way can you tell he was "on drugs" here. If that were the case, then every comedian who does his routine on stage in front of an audience would be considered "on drugs." Give it a rest dude, you look silly trying to belittle someone.
He clearly was out of it here. But the previous night's September 27 1974 concert at College Park was a better concert. So far only an audience tape exists of this.
"This gotta be right, this chick is pretty fair looking you know what i mean. Its the end of the show, i should go back stage for a minute" Haha way to go Elvis.
Elvis Presley was more famous in life, than Jesus Christ. If Elvis had ever just wanted to go for a walk down the street, alone yet & among the general poulation...He would have been killed and ripped to shreds by none other than his adoring fans...just to get a peice of him.

charlotte946 not you get sad because Elvis. He thinks that being a legend does not make you a being invensible. Elvis is foremost a human being with flaws and strengths and to address its public sesahogue saying what he feels was sincere and honest on his part. It's not bad to laugh at yourself once in a while. If we Riera children would make a great therapy, laughter liberates and gives joy. Elvis Thanks for the jokes, joy, your laughter and your great humor KING Elvis Forever!
its not funny, just sad, may be it would be nice if you would remove this clip. elvis was such a great intertainer with the most incredible voice, this is certainly not what he liked to become.
I was at this show. Not one of Elvis' best so maybe he was bored and felt like talking. He was on prescription drugs and they take their toll. Don't forget Elvis was doing maybe 16 shows in 14 days! People do not realize the ton of stress it was being "Elvis" for everyone else. He was still very funny, the first half of part 1, but that was just Elvis being himself. So cut the guy a break. The shows became like an informal meeting with the fans. Elvis' life: 98% Good 2% bad. The King.

Man, I just wish he took a break for a couple years and didn't have the need for all those damn drugs. Imagine having Elvis at the rock and roll 25th anniversery hall of fame concert? Hot damn.
elvis was and will always be the king in spite of his problems. he was talented in spite of colonel parker and coontinued to perform in spite of everything else. lesser people caved in to the critcism which he didnt do. cstanchik
I don't think Elvis is funny here, he's just tragically ridiculous in this scene. On drugs, as always in the seventies. A poor boy and a victim of the American society and their way of life. Just like MJ. Elvis, old times they are not forgotten... I will love you and you're songs for the rest of my life.
I totally agree to what you are writing. It makes me sad when listening to the talk of this great entertainer. I can't believe that this is showing up here. He is such a legend and towards the end it is just like he is making a fool out of himself. He said himself, he was soooooooooo tired of being Elvis Presley, but he had to keep the show going since he had a huge industry to feed. Shame on all the hangers on and most specially on his manager and the doctors that were not helping him.
I like this. I don't understand why people says that he's on drugs here. Elvis was always funny on stage, so he don't need drugs or all that shit for being funny. I Love You Elvis.
@emzzisamazing: I am a huge elvis fan myself, but elvis was clearly under drugs when he performed in collegpark maryland. This show was a mess and the concert agency from collegapark said they did not want him back again. Lets face the facts, elvis was addicted to drugs. sure it was prescribed medication, but still drugs.
I dont think drugs had anything to do with him being in a bad mood. He did concerts day in day out on the road always . It was a job just like we have and we sometimes are not at our best. People he was human not a GOD.
this also around the time parker screwed him over in getting the role for a star is born. august 74 is when his mood turned to be this way that it became the rest of 74. they shut him down completely after his october 74 tour and he didnt perform again till march 75 and stayed off the road tilla tornado destroyed a town in miss. thats when he asked parker to arrange a set of concerts to help rebuild that town
elvis was GREAT! <3<3<3 AND SO FUNNY! <3 we will always love you elvis, you was such a funny and happy, and sexy and talented and so on! you were anything good, a man can be!
your the gratest ever lived, we miss you honey! <3 R.I.P. elvis, the great king! <3 BIGGEST musical talent there will ever be! <3
and by the way elvis imitators, get the fuck out of this world, screw yourself!!! Elvis is dead, but will always live on in his music and the pers. he was, you will never be forgotten!<3<3 :')
Its like Elvis was speaking to ALL his critics and that includes people like strung out today, go back and listen to what he had to say about people like you, who speak crap about him now.
Your words "This must be funny if you're 12 or mentally limited. "
YES, we KNOW You are!!!
You sure let everyone know....LOL
But news for you, it is nothing to be SOOO proud of or brag about all the time like you do...!
Do yourself a favor, get back to your position on your B/G pic.. That way you at least does not make a even bigger fool of yourself !!! And by the way, Your effort to look like Elvis, did not work out very well...
Elvis Had a Wonderful sense of Humor !He Laughed, Cried, Had Emotions, Like any Human ! He sure did Love His Fans, and Told how he Felt .. Elvis You Are, and Always Will be the King of Rock n Roll ! !
lol "you guys are fantastic really, J.D. tell them that theyre fannntastic." "-deep voice- YOUR FANTASTIC" "your voice sounds lower talking on the microphone" Elvis forever January 8, 1935- August 16,1977 Beloved husband, son, and father. died when he was 42 of being -excuse me- overweight and took too many drugs and used syringes found dead in bathroom on floor tongue blue empty syringes and pill bottles all over floor.
This was very nice.Elvis had a cool personality he could make people LOL!!...5 *****...Marc Jones-Vocalist..Los Angeles....Thanks Denise for the invite
Beautiful video!!! I love hearing Elvis speaking to his fans... being himself, happy or upset about things in life... sharing all with someone you love and care about ... in this case, his fans, is it not the way it should be?
That was the real Elvis...love him or hate him. I love him. He was amazing. I just feel bad for him, the way he lived sometimes and the way he died, especially.
Thank you so much for sharing this oustanding video!!! love seeing Elvis having fun with the audience... being just the way he was... He really made me smile... Bless you Elvis..rest in peace in Heaven...
Let`s face it; our man was NOT quite up for it this evening. I`ve heard a lot of concerts from the 70`s, and either you like it or not; he sounds "drunk" here (Yes, I know he didn`t like alcohol).
This is what made Elvis so charming and appealing. He was so down-to-earth and relaxed in front of a large audience. He loved people and people loved him. He will never be forgotten. Very nice presentation.
I also want to add this was a very trying time for EP, emotionally that is. The recent divorce, paternity suit by Patricia Parker, the critical magazine articles, and so on. Still, while others consider this his worst performance (actually all of Autumn of '74) I consider it to be candid and telling of the real man inside the suit.
I like this side of Elvis. It is the masculine, borderline rude, tough, sensual Elvis. It's his realism. It's totally contrary to 99% of the descriptions of Elvis we get from the "experts", and it's refreshing to see this side of him. Thanks for sharing!
Indeed ! I especially like when Elvis speaks about his paunch, answering to a paperbackwriter. It is a very good answer from Elvis to all the people who say he is/was fat ! :)
i'd take one of elvis's sweaty scarfs anyday!

Sannoon93 2 years ago 3
I like this. I don't understand why people says that he's on drugs here. Elvis was always funny on stage, so he don't need drugs or all that shit for being funny. I Love You Elvis.
emzzisamazing 2 years ago 38
There is no doubt he's on drugs here. You can tell by the way he talks, really.
meralyt 2 years ago
yea slurry speech, but we tend to forget he was a human being...he had faults just like all of us..
ElvisinTribute 2 years ago
I wasn't judging him ... I was making a statement, that's all. :)

you dont know much about Elvis and what a goof off he was from day one.

You're right, you're right, I don't know much about Elvis. :))

SupernaturalXtreme 7 months ago
@SupernaturalXtreme he hated performing there anyways he was pissed when he found out he had to go there lol

Excellent. It's always great to hear him interacting with his audience.
CookieMCMLVII 2 years ago 6
I dont think drugs had anything to do with him being in a bad mood. He did concerts day in day out on the road always . It was a job just like we have and we sometimes are not at our best. People he was human not a GOD.
tigerpawl 2 years ago 8
this also around the time parker screwed him over in getting the role for a star is born. august 74 is when his mood turned to be this way that it became the rest of 74. they shut him down completely after his october 74 tour and he didnt perform again till march 75 and stayed off the road tilla tornado destroyed a town in miss. thats when he asked parker to arrange a set of concerts to help rebuild that town

Beautiful video!!! I love hearing Elvis speaking to his fans... being himself, happy or upset about things in life... sharing all with someone you love and care about ... in this case, his fans, is it not the way it should be?

It`s very easy to hear when this guy struggled with the intake of "medication". He is high as a kite in this performance.

That was the real Elvis...love him or hate him. I love him. He was amazing. I just feel bad for him, the way he lived sometimes and the way he died, especially.

goldenrisingsun 3 years ago 2
Let`s face it; our man was NOT quite up for it this evening. I`ve heard a lot of concerts from the 70`s, and either you like it or not; he sounds "drunk" here (Yes, I know he didn`t like alcohol).
hoelshageland 3 years ago
Thanks a lot, everybody ! You are all so nice ! ^^
I'm glad that you like my video. But I have to confess that the real work as been done... by Elvis himself ! ;)
Mithra3712 3 years ago
This is what made Elvis so charming and appealing. He was so down-to-earth and relaxed in front of a large audience. He loved people and people loved him. He will never be forgotten. Very nice presentation.
carann5 3 years ago 3
I also want to add this was a very trying time for EP, emotionally that is. The recent divorce, paternity suit by Patricia Parker, the critical magazine articles, and so on. Still, while others consider this his worst performance (actually all of Autumn of '74) I consider it to be candid and telling of the real man inside the suit.
mijakamaj 3 years ago
I like this side of Elvis. It is the masculine, borderline rude, tough, sensual Elvis. It's his realism. It's totally contrary to 99% of the descriptions of Elvis we get from the "experts", and it's refreshing to see this side of him. Thanks for sharing!
