i have the 920 i7, it doesnt need that much of a big cooler! and what game runs in more than 4-5 GB of ram? even the stupid GTA IV runs at full settings with 5GB DDR3, or even four!

The big cooler is for overclocking, i currently have it stable at 3.6ghz. = 1ghz overclock

Got an i7 rig here too. 940 at 3.66, 2 x GTX 280s in SLI, 6GB of triple channel RAM and it's all set in a beautiful antec 1200 case :P

Lol I have a Antec 1200, couldn't bring it back with me though too big and heavy, got me a HAF932 now :P

You should get that 940 to at least 3.8ghz :P

The 940 has a multiplyer of 21.

So if you set the bclk to 200 you'll get to 4.2ghz, start slow like 18 multi and 200 bclck and mess with the voltages. Don't go over 1.40 though I suggest QPI of 1.35 and cpu of 1.35 to start with.

wat is cpu host controle? because if im rite you times the multipliyer by that and you get your cpu speed rite? because my cpu host controle is at 200 and i put it to 256 and multiplyer on like 12, and voltages raised by 0.050, then i took ht link speed or watever of auto and to 7. my pc wouldnt start 3 times and i think i messed my ram and gpu up because my gpu had problems. should i have messe with the cpu core speed or vcore speed watever that is because its on 500.

i've seen some reviews stating that the 920 overclocks better then a 940. with a v8 cooler you should be able to reach 4 Ghz no problem.
