fred punk i must say i used to feel the same way about horseshoes. until 6 years ago when i began pitching. now i love it. i have a 58% ringer and am the youngest person to ever win my county's Class A championship. try it in clay instead of sand and see if it doesn't change your feelings. it bugs me that poker and dominoes can be shown on ESPN and not horseshoes. its a great sport with little recognition.

the rule for the stakes to be apart in horseshoe is 40ft if ur a woman junior or elder u can throw from 30ft, i think alan francis is a 12 tiem world champ and his pitch is a reverse 3/4 turn, he's coming this year to iowa to play in the world championship and so am i

I agree. The guys we play with all have a beer in their hand. I do respect Mr. Francis though. He is a class act. Played against some world participants today in Carlinville and......wow. I was impressed. I'm going out to practice now.........
