Actually, my card says completed 12/2/2010. That is why I was not updated to the new 2011 techniques. I just know that if you give an infant a breath for CPR (not choking) it should be a puff. Since, they have little lungs. Did you take a CPR class in 2011? It is supposed to be different.
1. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO UNDRESS THE INFANT BEFORE GIVING CHEST COMPRESSIONS
2. ONLY REMOVE THE OBJECT FROM THE INFANT'S AIRWAY IF IT CAN BE SEEN AND EASILY REMOVED.
3. KEEP YOUR FINGERS STRAIGHT WHEN GIVING CHEST COMPRESSIONS
4. AFTER THE OBJECT IS REMOVED, ALWAYS TAKE THE INFANT TO THEIR PEDIATRICIAN, A PART OF THE OBJECT MAY STILL BE IN THERE AND/OR IT MIGHT HAVE SCRATCHED THEIR AIRWAY.
Our CPR instructor told us that the baby can die if you blow too hard. Please use puffs of air.
@biotch I imagine it is not enough to move the object. It is to check to see if the object is still obstructing the airway. If the breaths go in or not.
@QueenStacy09 I apologize I was thinking of Infant CPR. I guess I posted in the wrong forum. Though my instructor did say when doing Infant CPR you shouldn't blow into their lungs too hard. I was responding to Bioch's comment. I thought s/he was talking about rescue breaths.

Sorry, I meant when doing back blows on an infant the head must be lower than the body!

When doing chest compressions on an infant, you must make sure the infant's head is lower than the body.
