I have to say, I am a conservative and I LOVE this song... it just makes you want to get up and move.... That is the thing about Big Country... you may not agree with what the lyrics say, but good GOD could they ROCK!!!

Stuart had depression, an illness which is rife in this country and probably in the US also, it would be good if there wasn't such ignorance of this illness esp by small minded people such as you. LowOIL - what absolute crap, get your facts right. Stuart was dry when this song was released in 1991 and had been for 6 years and was sober for a further 6 years. He was married too at this time. He did not have a political hate for Americans, the song is satirical based on PJ O'Rourkes book of the same name, a writer he loved but didnt share his views. Along with the rest of your wrong statements i ask you to clarify "coupled with a Christian right statement".
