The funny thing is that the Jack Docherty show was something like Channel 5's flagship programme when the channel first launched. But yeah, this is painful to watch. Channel 5 nowadays seem to have decided to just not even try to make any original programming, and you can see why.
@Tomurow I think it was OK. They decided to model it on the American shows like The Tonight Show, and David Letterman, but I don't thinkn Jack has the insincerity for that. He was a great comedian in Absolutely and a good comedy actor in Mr Don and Mr George. It's a shame that Fluff would be dead not long after this, Jack's career as a chat show host would be over, and that after the series they were plugging here, Lee & Herring would never again return to the BBC.

Never had C5 at the time but remember hearing that The Jack Docherty show was a bit of a shambles. Now I know why...

what an awful host he was. cutting off alan freeman saying he doesnt want to know. glad hes not on tv anymore, after seeing tripe like this.
