Of course this isn't live and is the studio recording but Jeff does a truly marvelous job of emulating Reena Bhadwaj's beautiful vocal of the original. Outstanding and ground-breaking. Thank you. This is off the "You Had It Coming" CD (2000). And thank you Nitin Sawhney who composed it. It shows how beautiful Indian melody can be.

Actually it is a very old Indian song..very old..a traditionjal song in fact...Nitin Sawhney basically 'arranged' this version...which Beck copied and transposed to the guitar. No matter the origin..bottom line is that it's a beautiful ethereal,lovely but brief...bit of magic.

NO, this was recorded in Tokyo for TV in Japan. Not in Montreaux. It is however not even 'live'..but a playback...and I must say Beck does an unbelievable job of mimicking the studio recording..looks like he is playing it live but actually matching a recording of the original studie version he did.
