u dont need a long track with the 2011 phazer rtx and sure a mtx may be better in powder but with no turbo ur not gonna get off the flats and stock my sled did pretty damn well the one day we got 4 ft of powder i was trail blazin and once i get new skis and a freeride track ill be able to keep up with u in powder and own a mtx anywhere else

Heard mixed things about Phazers... Heard they are reliable as hell but tippy. I was thinking about getting a used one

i second that! Also the fx suspension compared to the mtx suspension.. yikes. i do not agree with the reliable part though.. mine was an 07 though. they could possably be a lot better now.

@toyotaecw he, in nb canada we havn't had this much snow since i've been born. you cand find a long track for sale because theres 4 feet of pow and no one wants to sell them. the only longtrack for a good price you'll find would be on a touring sled.

I have an 08 rtx short track and ride trail, and some rough ditch riding. Mine work's great. however my question to you is... Why would you buy an 80 hp sled with a 144 track and go to a real mountain? yamaha needs a kick in the ass for calling the phazer mtx a mountain sled. It's like putting a 144 on a 440 two stroke and expecting it to perform well. the mtx is a great flatland powder sled, but a HUGE dissapointment in the mountains.

all he did was remove the spark arrestor and end cap you can do it. You unscrew like 4 bolts and just pull it out. But ill warn you. Four strokes engines get really shitty fast when you run them without spark arrestor.

my buddy has a 500 phazer and my friend has a f5, my other buddy has a f6 and i got a zr900 big bore, and a zr 600.... me and my friends kick the 500's ass..... all its good for is looking like shit... ugly as hell and gutless as hell

its not that easy.. its lengnth and all that.. and what size of holes and such.. the easy thing to do is get a mx pipe or a rocker pipe and make it fit. i wanted a liltte more custom job and fit

well depends. a phazer is light and easy the throw around but only does 80 or so... a vector goes fast but is a tank. i traded my phaz for a 09 polaris dragon600sp and love it.

mines got lots of low end power. its super torquey!! and plus ive got a hauck single pipe on it and i love it. never go back to 2 strokes. and on mine im getting about 20 mpg. and thats givener hell in the powder and hitting drifts

That looks like a Yz250 or a motocross bike (at least the seat and some of the hood) And sick sound I think it way better then those cheap after market ones and the stock one. The stock one screams when you are going down trails...

what you hear in this video I believe is a yamaha modified engine from a 4 stroke motocross. This is what i hear from my friend who's got loads of experience in motocross and snowmobiles, same source who told me this says this is most likely an engine from a Yamaha YZF 250 (4stroke) motocross that has been modified.
