My longest match was with Yu at the hardest level. 10 minutes long and it went over a million points for the each of us, but I think I lost. Very long fever mode.
I have been playing the earliest version of Puyo Pop since I was very young, but I have not been practicing for a long time. Normally I start off with 7-8 chain attacks, then use fever mode to build up to as much as 8-9 chains. After which, I just attack quickly with multiple 5-7 chain attacks, and slowly build up fever until I reach 12+ chains. The game mostly becomes a fever-mode contest after that, so no point reaching for 10+ chains in normal mode.
lol wow... I've had some back-and-forth fever games like this with accord, but playing Carbuncle on fever mode it takes me like 20 games to win. If I want to stand a chance, I have to turn off fever first and even then I still lose 3/5 games.
This is one of those hugely enjoyable (and immensely cute) games that drives me completely insane in a good way at 4am having played it for hours solid. At some point you start listening to all the sound effects at the same level of awareness as paying attention to the gameplay, & it goes faster & faster, & that's when the laughing insanity kicks in. Esp. if one of the guys is the one that sounds like Roger in Family Guy.

I was assuming that she didnt know anything about fever mode since she just appeared in amitie's universe. what if carbuncle is responsible for the old players moving to different universes? XD
dear god xD yeah i can't beat carbuncle. i die pretty fast. i guess i should try a different approach (i usually try to get all clear ALL the time instead of having back-up puyos.. not good i guess)

I can only play easy - normal against carbuncle and I still lose quite a bit. Plus, the japanese version sounds cool~ so different compared to english version
yeah. i learned something by playing puyo pop fever a whole lot. Never try to get rid of all your puyos throughout the course, when it's not an all clear...XDDD...always have backup puyos to chain the comp no matter what or the player. keeps you in the game. If you're low on puyos, always restock while the enemy is doing their deadly chain. XDDD
