@teiaperigosa 128 is just a very common bitrate, not too big, not too small. Channel is always 2 for stereo output. Im not sure what the problem could be. Always make sure you are using the latest version of VLC

It worked fine for me and I have OS X 10.6.8 and I just downloaded the latest version of VLC. I did everything he said step by step. When the conversion process starts on VLC YOU HAVE TO LET IT FINISH COMPLETELY without opening the .MP3 file that appears on your desktop right away. It's like a countdown, when the countdown stops on VLC you can then click on the .MP3 file to which ever folder you saved it too. It should open up to Itunes. Delete the old .MPEG file to avoid confusion.

Whenever I try to change the flv file to song.mp3 for example it always changes back to vlc-output.raw when I press save.

When I play the song in itunes it plays for a few seconds then becomes scratchy and then stops playing

ther is beter way to do that.... download iExtractMp3.. it can convert .flv to .acc. iTunes is opening acc without any problem. just drug the flv file in vindow and pres extract

@mcfootball27 this tutorial is mainly for audio FLV and MPEG files to MP3. If you want to convert video FLV files to MP4 then you will have to use a converter program. There are a lot of them out there if you do a search for them

Most of the FLV convert but some FLV come out either messed up or don't even convert... I'm doing all the steps... Why do you think some Flvs dont convert?

@DerFuhrer66 i have no idea why it's sporadic like that. hopefully VLC will have an updated version to fix bugs like that soon but I haven't been experiencing any problems like that myself

@ifanisetiawan I haven't gotten it to work with MP4's yet. You can always try to tinker with the settings and see if you can get it to work. I will try to see what I can do and will let you know if I come across a method.

@DerFuhrer66 well, i had the same problem. After two hours working on it. I figured out that some of the files converted without mp3 extension. Therefore, Itunes doesnt play them. So make sure that, once convert the file to mp3, if the image looks like text or some another shit! rename the file with .mp3 and it works..!! good guys!

@recneps4444 The longer the video, the longer the converting process takes. Make sure you are using the latest version of VLC. You shouldn't have to change the bit rate settings or anything.

The only diffierence I can see is that it worked with a slideshow vid where they'd combined the music, but didn't with the live concert vid. Advice? Suggestions?

@ucsensei That is strange. It shouldn't matter what the video content is, as it's all one big FLV or MPEG file when it's all said and done. The video that didn't work for you might have been another type of file maybe? It's hard to tell really. The only thing I can tell you is make sure you update VLC and your OS. Thanks for watching!

@hockey485 Are the flv files videos? It's hard to tell what the problem is really. Mine works fine running on Leopard with VLC version 1.0.5. Make sure you have the latest version of VLC installed and make sure you use "File, Advanced Open File". Hope this helps you out and thanks for watching

Hey MTM. I've tried out your tutorial today, and it works alright but I have a few questions.

Alright, when I have a mpeg music file (from playlist), I put it into VLC and have all the settings right. I have OS 10.4 though, and I'm using the most recent version (like 0.9 something). When I go to convert to MP3 though, my computer seems to lock up on me and I end up having to use a hard shut down. I got it once for a song (playlist again), but was having trouble with vids as well. Any ideas?

@CHARZARDRAKE Hmm I bet that is happening because you're using an older version of VLC. You said you're using 0.9 version of VLC on Tiger right? Unfortunately I think the only solution would be to upgrade to Leopard or Snow Leopard that way you can use the latest version of VLC which will most likely fix those bugs.
