I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
No it's a 289. I know I owna 67 and it has a single exaust with two cataletic converters. It has all those California emmisions shit on it so it's real quiet.
hotrod magazine did a replica of that swap, it was very difficult compared to most swaps, but all the same it was interesting... but yeah i wouldn't do it... cuz thats gai

not stupid, it has better power distribution for drifting and its way lighter. sr20det can make up to 1000hp with just a turbo a good tune. I mean i love v8's but it was the art of putting a SR20Det in a muscles car that made it interesting, otherwise i would always have a v8 if i owned a mustang :)
actually, the mustang kept a v8 during the film; the car with the japanese engine never made the "drift" sessions, it couldnt do the burnouts the V8 could easily make. So..... ur watchin 2 much tvvvv!!!!!!!!

Yes, each time I hear an american car I watch it and I remember well to have seen OAK577

I have a 1965 289 and it sounds exactly the same. I love the Mustang's low idle rumble. When you wake that car up though, she's loud.

non starli a sentire, già la mustang in sè è un capolavoro, poi il sound del v8... che auto! 5stars.

4 cyl? what 60's stang has a 4 cyl? none, likely a 289.
maverick50616 4 years ago
it`s a 1965 289V8 A-spec, and definitely not a cheap toy, and it does not have any emisions "shit" on it.
Using the full power it gets really loud, now it`s just running 600-800 rpm.
jackjimmy008 4 years ago
Yeah man this emissions shit sucks. I'm so sad my 06 GT has to have it. :( But I hope to get a 60's model mustang one day so that'll be fun. :)

Domman56 4 years ago
They didn't have cat converters until '75. How would put them on?

are you sure its not a freakin 4 cyl cuz thats what it sounds like
doesnt have that raspy tone
SHORTYguy60 5 years ago
If it's not a V8 it could only be an inline 6. Unless it's not an old motor, but why would anyone do that? I'm pretty sure it's a 289.
spartan117halofreak 4 years ago
someone put in a nissan motor in one for one of the fast and the furious movies... theres stupid people out there that would.

stfu no one wants a fuckin sr20det in their muscle car
yea they can achieve 1000hp.. a few have. with EXPERT tunes, not "good" tunes. they blow up after a few passes and sound like fuckin mosquitos
350+blower and leave it alone
ficklefackle 2 years ago
sure an sr20 can achieve 1000+ hp, but so can a v8....and the v8 wont have to be rebuilt near as often.

mustangfan00 3 years ago
wtf are you talking about??..that is an original mustang... straight six's were in the lower end versions.
