I can see why this argumentation makes sense (to her). But it is well known that conclusions drawn from wrong basic assumptions can never lead to true statements.

So here is where I do not agree: it is not true that everybody has fear.

Being afraid of change and fearing new things in general prevents us form growing (also internally) and from becoming wealthy.

Fatalistic attitudes like the conviction to depend on luck won't ever generate success because it will be blocked by fear ... :-)

I think Obama used "change" as a word more than a well articulated policy discussion. Also, he made outrageous claims, primarily that he could expand government endlessly while not increasing taxes on 95% "one cent" (a promise already broken even if one does not include inflation as a tax).

McCain offered as much in the way of change as Obama did, whether it be on energy policy or taxation. But you seem to obsessed too much with a word to care about such details.
