anything made by hi point is garbage. I had the hi point 9mm pistol at one time, and it jammed almost every other shot. It's heavy, inaccurate, and it doesnt last long at all. Spend the extra $200 and get something alot better. I carry a Springfield 1911 .45
thanks for the input and because of your video i went an purchase'd a 45cal hi point cause of the price,i paid $165.00 ,its never jammed yet knock on wood an the size is very intimidating,,but thanks for the info, keep up the good work...
@USMC1775GUY The only place I have seen these that low is at Cheaper Than Dirt and they are out right now with no B.O.s allowed. Out side of that you can find sales all the time. Check Google. I paid 159.99 for mine.
they are great pistols. they will take more beating than you can dish out too them. accuracy is great. trigger sucks but its a poor mans bullet launcher. it will kill what you point it at. you will not win any cool points at the shooting range but you sure get your moneys worth and it serves the purpose a gun is supposed to
I have put 100s of rounds through one with no issues at all. Accurate and deadly. And! If you run out of ammo its heavy enough you can take down a bull elephant by whacking him between the eyes with it. Good Review!
@SurvivalReality "And! If you run out of ammo its heavy enough you can take down a bull elephant by whacking him between the eyes with it." LOL. I guess you could say it is an all purpose weapon. Thanks for sharing.
If you want to buy a hipoint, because you want a hipoint, that's all fine. When you buy one because you claim that's all you can afford, but you pick up a coffee from starbucks on the way to work, or blow money on a movie, etc... Then you claim that's all you're willing to pay for a gun... I think you have mental issues. You could have picked up a used glock 20 in 10mm, which is ideal for a trail gun, and you only would have had to miss a few movies to afford it.
Good review. I bought the C9 and .45 for home defense in addition to a 12G, so I won't be carrying them. I've had no problems with either of mine. A lot of safety features. With having a mortgage, 2 kids, car payments, medical bills, pricewise they have provided a level of portable defense we wouldn't otherwise be able to afford. And at less than $200, it's warranted for life.
Honest review. They are ugly. I bought one the first models used and broken. Missing parts. I called the company and told them what parts I needed they sent them free of charge. The gun works flawlessly. I enjoy shooting it. So for the $60.00 dollars I spent I have a great gun.
@afnNightmare if your into glocks that much he could also go springfield xdm. I like glocks but cant stand when people are myopic like the ford vs chevy guys i think its funny how you can own all the glocks and have a bunch of guns that look exactly the same. they are boring but yes they are great quality. totally over hyped though there are many many many equal guns in quality and price point
This was a great review. Like you I did not have the money for a expensive 45 so I went the Hi-point way. After seeing the youtube reviews from several people, I was in fear of what I got myself into. Was I wrong! The gun has been perfect thus far. Like you said, it is ugly, but I can live with ugly if it will do the job it was made to do.
I heard the the high point handguns were not even designed to be taken down like a regular handgun for cleaning/maintainance. That right there tells you it's not designed to last as long as a more expensive firearm (parts made in zinc etc.) your life is not on the line when plinking. For great deals on quality real service hanguns seek "police trad ins," carried alot & shot very little at 1/2+ new gun price like $350 glock wt 3 mags+ night sights, or $250-$300 S&W 4th generation semiautos.
@cramsa the life time warranty that they honor no questions asked tell me its built for life. i have thousands of rnds through my c9 and not so much as a jam.
@FOREMAN3301 I think you may want to call the company. You realize they have a lifetime warranty on it. They are a good pistol. But if you do happen to have a defect or something , they should replace it.
Yes I know about chambering a round, I mean almost every three rounds I fire it has trouble ejecting the spent shell and it will jam up. I still like my hi point for the price I paid, but I favor my xdm .40
hey man next time you review a gun skip your bullsh*t hunting trip stories PLEASE. this is about a 45 crap pistol and i have to sit through an elk story. love the old navy shirt and the whole talking in front of a bunch of books, guess that makes you some kind of expert. an ex is a has-been and a spurt is a leak under pressure. maybe next video you can use a british accent like harry potter that really makes you sound smart. you sir are a friggin idiot!
@TheZSITCHIN If you have something to share that can be positive feel free to leave comments, but if you insist on running your mouth, not offering anything of any intellectual value, then don't bother commenting because next time I will just block you.
Thanks for the video. I have recently looked into this gun and I have thought about buying it. I am wanting one for home protection mainly. I saw the reviews on youtube by Iraqveteran8888 and they tried alot of things to destroy this gun. Things that most guns would never go through. Thanks again.
You can pick up a cheap shoulder holster off Amazon or eBay (around $20) that would make carrying that beast all day a LOT more comfortable. People knock Hi-Points because they're in the same price range as some truly horrible guns made by Jimenez Arms, Cobra Arms, etc. but they're every bit as good (functionally) as the $300 on up guns - they're just heavy and hideous, that's all. :-) Might be picking one up myself soon, in fact, to add to my little collection...
i just recently purchased the 45 acp and have taken it out 2 times and put about 100 rounds thru it and have had no problem..really good gun for the price and i dont mind the weight nor the look of it ...gets the job done

Ehhhh I wouldn't trust my life with a hi-point. I hear they've improved, but I trust my Glock 22 and Sig 226 moreso than I would a hi-point.

@AvonLakeAirsoft ther ceratinly is nothing wrong with the Glock. HI point is the better price. I would trust it.

I think for your needs, you need a glock. 1911's are great, but for defense for animals or humans, I would get a glock. But glad you enjoy shooting

you can take down a hipoint by cocking it back and punching 2 pins out, not very hard. and ive broke my down more than that. not hard
