It would be a better idea to get the latest supported drivers from your device/system manufacturer.

@mandai2 - The problem there is that the system manufacturers rarely list ALL of the drivers along with available updates and when users start to add external devices the device/system manufacturer will be of no use to them :-)

All the main system and device manufactures (Dell/Toshiba for example) have all the needed drivers available to download on their websites.

If the manufacturer is unavailable you could always search by the hardware id of your device (found in device manager details, usually PCI\VEN_xxxx&DEV_yyyy)

Personally I don't trust these 3rd party driver update programs.

@mandai2 - This is a simple program to use, although I would not leave it running on startup as it is unnecessary, but it does collect and download outdated drivers as needed and it is also safe to use :-)

If you click the link under 'more info' there is a download link for DriverMax, install it and allow it to scan your PC for out-dated drivers, free users can only download 2 per day, but it doesn't take long to download all updated drivers, just needs a little patience :-)

MrBballer15 - Yes it is, although there is also a Pro version. The free version limits users to 2 driver downloads per day, but allowed to run on system boot and the drivers are soon updated. There is also a 20 second waiting period to download the drivers but for free - it works well :-)

When drivers have downloaded they will appear in the bottom pane of the agent, tick the box, click Install driver. Often, you will see drivers in the upper pane, these are waiting to download and the agent will inform you with a popup when a download has completed. It pauses the connection when the servers are busy or you have received the 2 drivers free users are allowed per day :-)

DaFleegsta - DriverMax have changed their system and allow only 2 downloads per day. The program needs to run at startup to retrieve drivers and download them. When you click the link, Free Version users have to wait 30 seconds before the installer downloads to DriverMax. Retry downloading each link, they should download but not all will install, but they will over time. I will make an updated video because of the changes made :-)

DaFleegsta - Because of the changes to Drivermax, it is necessary to leave it running in the background and updates will be downloaded over a period of days. They also have the option of the Pro version, but to be honest, it's worth being patient :-)

Jeaniy86 - To run System recovery 4 times sounds like a bad infection which also infected the recovery partition. Run malwarebytes and superantispyware one after the other and select Full Scan with each to remove any infections.

If you can, create an image of your system once it's clean on an external drive so in future all you have to do is restore the image, which includes all updates, drivers etc that were installed at the time :-)

If you open DriverMax and click on Online Account > My Online Cotrol Panel you will be able to click on Computer details for a list of installed hardware, then click on Driver Updates on the page and it will show you what version you have and if an update is available :-)

Thanks for replying.I am using windows xp home. To clean cookies I use auslogics bootspeed and easycleaner. My antivirus is norton 360. I will do what you suggested.

dragonshin - Try CCleaner to clear all of your temp files.Click on the Cleaner Tab on the left and under Windows tick all boxes in Internet Explorer. If you save your username/passwords untick 'Autocomplete Form History' and under System tick all boxes except the last 2, and leave Advanced all unticked. Then click on the Applications tab and tick all apart from Saved form information if you use Firefox and save your username/passwords. Some files are 'locked' but will be removed on reboot

FreeKillguy - The first thing is probably the most obvious...did you create an account and enter the Registration code which is only required when you first use it.

When DriverMax scans for updates and informs you that it has found them follow the steps in the video, it opens a new browser window which will list available drivers.
