  • [3] When searching for media it only shows 10 items at a time so if you have a huge collection it can take some times scrolling. There's a page forward/backward to make it easier.

The device using a EU power plug and came with a EU-to-US adapter plug. The adapter doesn't stick to the two EU plugs very well, it tends to slip out if you have it connected to a wall outlet. I'd recommended using a extension cord and have it facing downwards into the outlet, or buy a better EU-to-US adapter.

  • [2] I instead installed TVersity, a free and professional looking UPuP media server and it worked very well.

I was able to play AVI, mp3 and with some transcoding on-the-fly it did mpg. It would not play my 720p mkv files. It was able to play YouTube stuff from the Featured/Most Recent/ect pages and there's a option to add spicific YouTube usernames for videos. THere's no built-in search youtube though.

I did not test the media card slots or the optical surround sound.

  • [1] I just received this device yesterday and I was able to play around with it before boxing it back up for Christmas.

It connected to my WPA2 network (after spending 15 minutes entering the huge passkey ugh).

In order for the device to see media on your network you need to install UPnP media server software on your computer. The no-name software that came with it was pretty crappy and had no documentation.

  • Nice to see this supports WPA encryption (0:57).

  • I Still don't get how this works.
