well if you mean the difference in the cars... the bullitt has a different drivetrain tune giving it 315hp 15 over stock gt. it has way upgraded suspension, even the engine in the car is a completely different setup that a gt. also the interior is different and they came with different rearend gears. and why not make a remake of an incredibly famous mustang with one of the most popular models ever. my dad has one of these that is supercharged. it is stupid fast.

Do you mean 4.6L the 4.6L is a 281 so it is smaller then the 289.

first- its the 4.6 not the 4.3. Second- the 289 is a single cam in block push-rod style motor and the 4.6 is a single over head cam(one camshaft for each bank of cylinders). Third- the 4.6 is only 281 cubic inches to the 289's 289 cubic inches. Forth the 289 was carburated and the 4.6 is fuel injected.

If you mean the 4.6 (which comes out to a displacement of 281cu in) The 289 is an old-school cast iron block while the 4.6 is all aluminium. The 4.6 is a SOHC (Single Over Head Cam) which means the engine has 2 cam shafts. One located over each head on both sides of the motor. While the 289 has one cam located in the block. With a little work both of these engines can be sopued up and dominate the competition.

Get this.......they had to put in a built 302. They did it to make the front end lighter. The 390 handled like a yacht. Still, the suspension didn't hold up for the chase. Had to fix it 6 times. :) The Dodge, however, didn't have any major mechanical breakdown during the filming sequences. I was blown away when I saw that interview. I would've thought it was the other way around. :) Those dodges were real tanks, huh?

They weren't, the 2009 Dodge Charger R/T has a 360hp, 5.7-liter HEMI. Cost:$25,000-$40,000.

Bullitt was the end of reall driving movies where they went faster than 40mph. After that, all the stunts are done at 40mph, I would like a real movie that has cars goin over 100 mph, for realz, not just sped up a FXs added to it!

the bullitt is unreal, everyone that has not driven one or been in one has no idea what there are talking about, it looks and drives much better than a GT and as far as the 2001 bullitt that looks trashy, ford hit a home run with this car

I agree with that the new mustang looks good, but the 99-04s looked good. They look much more aggressive than the newer ones stock.

You have to remember, that body style saw both the 35th and 40th anniversaries.

You should be bashing ricers and imports, not your own kind.

i agree this one is nothing special i own a 2001 bullitt and i like it far more then i did my 02 mustang gt handles so much better and is a lot more peppier stock the dual 57mm throttlebody is great.

i have the 01 bullitt.... i can tell u i prefer my 01 and do NOT consider gettign this one. i am disapointed. went to the autoshow and what i saw in that 08 was nothing else but disapointment. im sorry, wont get this edition... 01 has more character. next car is either the 500Kr cobra or the challenger 09.will see BUT NOT 08bullitt.

Im sorry but any mustang made between 74 and 2002 didnt live up to the mustang name but the new ones really do. I just cant wait til the 2010 mustang comes out, ive seen the concept and it looks like theyre bringing back the fastback look.

you can get over 30 more hp than stock with the regular gt by putting on a cold aid intake and engine tuning. thats without a more free flowing exhaust so im guessing that you would pay more for the trim level than the 800 or less you'd spend on those parts listed above. you sound like a dealer (15 more hp OMG!) you could prolly do a turbocharger kit or supercharger kit for less than the trim upgrade level
