I've heard of him before, he tried out for Korean youth team but because of cultural difference and language problems he didn't really fit in, basically he's Japanese. It's interesting that he kept his last name instead of changing it to Japanese. Overall he seems like a good player. By the way nice channel :)
Lee always said that he will never forgets "his roots" (S. Korea), as he stated. It is just that for him, Japan is his land of birth and and he wants to honor it. I can't understand the people who spit on him for his choice to play to the Japan, we are must to forget the past for advance.
Otherwise, Lee is a very promising forward. He is different to all of the Japan strikers was. Not very physical and speedy but clever and a real talent in his movements and in front of the goal.
also.. for any1 that is Je-il. ( krn who has lived in japan for generations) it is also extremely hard well harder for u try out for a korean team even if u have the korean nationality.south korea dont really accept them into korean society nor they fully consider them korean even if they have krn blood basically discrimination.same thing happened to alot of je-ils who wanted to be korean reps. but couldnt because the korean sport association discrminated them a bit. talent didnt matter.

Yea, I agree with you, we must put past behind. In a sense Lee could help bridge that gap a little more...
