Being as outnumbered as we were it seems to me the only way the Confederacy would have had a shot in hell of winning the war would have been to arm the blacks and promise them freedom after the war (which the CSA finally did at the very end when it was too late thanks to your relative R.E. Lee.) The south could have never maintained a nation while having to worry about fighting the damnyankees and keeping....
the African Americans in chains at the same time. Who knows exactly what would have happened if the south had won. It probably would have been worse as far as human rights is concerned, although I think it's safe to say slavery would not have lasted beyond the 19th century due to the mechanization of agriculture and pressure from Britain and France (who's help also would have been needed for a confederate victory). But maybe some things would have been better...

Being as outnumbered as we were it seems to me the only way the Confederacy would have had a shot in hell of winning the war would have been to arm the blacks and promise them freedom after the war (which the CSA finally did at the very end when it was too late thanks to your relative R.E. Lee.) The south could have never maintained a nation while having to worry about fighting the damnyankees and keeping....

It probably would have been worse as far as human rights is concerned, although I think it's safe to say slavery would not have lasted beyond the 19th century due to the mechanization of agriculture and pressure from Britain and France (who's help also would have been needed for a confederate victory). But maybe some things would have been better...
