You could certainly try. I've noticed that this trick doesn't work on certain NES consoles/emulators. I tried this trick on a genuine NES and it didn't work, then I tried it on a "GN Twin" console and it worked fine.

I'm able to play emulators on my PSP and it doesn't seem to work on certain revisions of "Nester" for PSP. Strange.

If you get this to work on Virtual Console, I'm sure other would like to know about it too.

It's funny how Irene shoots a gun during the sound test, as she is portrayed as a damsel in distress throughout the entire game and only becomes a bad ass in part III :).
