Please, HBO gods, tell me he's whistling "The Bear and the Maiden Fair", I've always wanted to hear that, "The Rains of Castamere", "Ballad of the Blackwater", and any of the other songs we hear of over and over again. They're always the once playing at interesting and memorable moments where a minstrel is around. Or maybe he's whistling A Hand of Gold? Little foreshadowing?
Pretty shaait preview but I still cant wait to watch this episode, this series is absolutely brilliant!! Got me reading the books even. Winter is coming!
anyone else see some symbolism in this show? the lannisters are a symbol for corporate america, the throne a symbol for the us government and ned stark a symbol of the citizens. just saying this seems like the real world translation of our modern lives. anyone else agree?
@MoT359 Uh no. I see no such symbolism. In fact I think you are a skewed liberal trying to pigeonhole his political views into a great show about power machinations and storytelling.
@MoT359 Actually George said that the War of the Roses was a great influence on Game of Thrones. Its a dynastic civil war in England. Fought between 2 major noble families. The Lancasters (Lannisters?) and the Yorks (Starks?) Which eventually won by a Lancastrian, who goes by the name Henry Tudor. Thus establishing the House of Tudors who ruled England for more than a century.
@warnation101 Exactly. But GRRM did say that although a lot of stuff is inspired by history, don't look for analogies. I mean, late medieval England didn't have a massive ice wall between them and Scotland nor was Cornwall a desert region.
Ser Boros Blount: "No man threatens His Grace in the presence of the kingsguard." Tyrion Lannister raised an eyebrow: "I am not threatining the king, ser, I am educating my nephew. Bronn, Timett, the next time Ser Boros opens his mouth, kill him." The dwarf smiled. "Now that was a threat, ser. See the difference?"
That's just brilliant stuff!
Waiting for Shagga, Timett son of Timett and of course Chella daughter of Cheyk!
@vide0gameCaster It's funny, because this episode's script was written by George RR Martin, the original author, himself. So the modification was done by the guy wrote the original lines in the first place.
@koinosuke Yeah, I know that! But still, he's not alone to work the text. So when I say "They", I'm talking about all the people who are working the dialogue. (sorry for my english)
Having read all the books as I'm sure a good majortity of people have, it's hard to watch at times. Most of us know what's happening in the next episode, it's not going to be pretty. They are doing a pretty good job. Still not representing the Imp's physical traits, but the wee man is killing everything else!!!!
@megaearplugger well they already announced the 2nd season has been picked up, this was right after the pilot aired and they saw how high the ratings were. if the show continues to be successful i dont see them cancelling any time soon
@LetsPlayMineSweeper well unless they make the seasons longer they'll need far more than 6 more seasons to cover the last 6 books. Based on the length of the second and third books i'd say theyll need at least 12 episodes to cover clash of kings and at least 16 to cover storm of swords. They better at least get through storm of swords. its my favorite by far of the first 3. HBO is renowned for cutting shows short though plus who knows when Martin will finish the last 2. may take 8 years.

I'd watch a show that was just about Tyrion and Bronn on the road, getting into all sorts of adventures and trouble.
Or perhaps a flatshare sitcom with Tyrion and Bronn set in King's Landing.
