Hair has nothing to with how strong his was. With enough, hair can stop 2 tanks from moving farther apart. He simply had a strong enough scalp and could withstand the pain of hair being pulled. Also the plane thing is just dumb considering the test @ :21 if he can hang there. It's not different than hanging at a higher altitude.
