It is true that the most of Japanese people supported outdated imperialism, as people in western countries formerly did, and that we Japanese do not receive enough education for Japanese imperialism. The most of Japanese people do not know what happened before and after WWII. Even scientific and objective inspection is not politically allowed by Japanese government even NOW, because it would lead criticisms from other far eastern countries. It is funny, we do not know our own history.
