The scooters with these motors on them are like the worst petrol scooter that you can buy because trying to drive these things up hills in the rain it just doesnt happen cos the spindle just keeps on sliding of the back tire and it also is nippy because you haveto change your tire more often cos the spindle just wears it down to quick
i just figured out that if you take a 3/4- long drive socket, it works GREAT. no slipping/movement. check my latest videos. just bolt er up to the end of the flywheel, it's the same as a .750
Thanks. It looks complicated, but was only made with a piece of angle iron and a steel L-bracket. Once its done I will post a video of all the bits and pieces used to mount it up. If I could weld it would have been so simple lol.
@FreestyleRider45
If everything is set up properly (not too much slippage) the tire should last a long time. The spindle will most likely wear out before the tire.

is an FL20 20cc strong enough to make a good motor scooter?

what should i use for a spindle? i have a homelite lt-155?
GSRGOPEDRIDER247 2 years ago
A goped spindle would be the best, but you could use a *small* diameter bike peg like I did.

Awesome work as always, mate.
You really need to get yourself a welder though.....
There's plenty of nice little stick welders starting at $150.
Makes everything so much easier.

Thanks dude!
Yes I really do need to get a welder. Im tired of having to bolt everything together : /
At the moment Im torn between getting either a welder or a small lathe.
BTW, have you made any progress on your scooter?
fingalickenchicken 2 years ago
Not really...
Too many other things on the go.
But I put up a video yesterday of the progress so far.
Hoping to get a bit done on it soon though.

Looks really strong especially with the bearing support.
It looked complicated with the turnbuckle set up, is it??.
