@thursday315 There is no reason to watch any 24-hour news network. The best television news is on PBS, and NPR is...acceptable. The problem is that even NPR falls into the "present both sides equally" trap when the conservative side is easy to debunk. A good example is the topic of taxes/spending. It's a fact that taxes are a very poor form of stimulus, while food stamps/unemployment are far more effective. But no one ever mentions this, and the conservative view continues to be taken seriously.

Colmes is a fervent liberal. They're liberal on many social issues. Moreover, they invite very liberal guests who definitely get their shots in.

The people who control that message are to blame. Even if everyone "woke up," it wouldn't change the fact that both political parties act to benefit the rich - see Obama's administration. Many people never had a good education, and it is only right to blame those who take advantage of that.

There are no longer reporters or journalists it seems, rather viewers emailing/uploading information that is then fed back to the public. @thursday315 There is no reason to watch any 24-hour news network. The best television news is on PBS, and NPR is...acceptable. The problem is that even NPR falls into the "present both sides equally" trap when the conservative side is easy to debunk. A good example is the topic of taxes/spending. It's a fact that taxes are a very poor form of stimulus, while food stamps/unemployment are far more effective. But no one ever mentions this, and the conservative view continues to be taken seriously.

Why would a news network feel the need to have the words "Fair & Balanced" in their logotype? To me it sounds about as reliable as a country with the words "Democratic" "Republic" and "People" in any constellation in it. But as with them, I guess the only reason for it is to fool the people on the inside... "Yeah, I work in a news organization. It says so right here in the logo!"

@RomansGalatians Maddow/Shultz/Matthews have open invitations to RNC & Republican leaders and Shultz has several Conservative regulars. Tea Baggers are too afraid to appear on their shows although invited many times ON AIR. MSNBC morning shows are hosted by Republican Joe Scarborough, whose regulars are far-right zealots such as Pat Buchanan. There are no equivalent liberal regulars at Fox nor Fox's Rove, Palin, Huckabee. Most frequent "quests" at Fox are the likes of Ann Coulter & Gingrich.

Compare the main media outlets: ABC, CBS, NBC to the Fox News format, and see if they give Conservative representation like Fox News gives Liberal representation. For the big three, it's just reporters presenting DNC talking points as if they were objective facts.
(For MSNBC it's Socialist talking points LOL :).

Even O'Reily conceded he's a bully sometimes, while owner Rupert Murdoch is all over YouTube admitting he has a "far right agenda". It's kind of hard to deny my point when the very video under which we are commenting demonstrates what I am saying (even though posted by a liberal). We see Jeanine Garaffalo, Chad Clanton, and other liberal guests.
Take snippets from ABC, CBS, NBC, and you see a single liberal anchor, pontificating an unchallenged liberal view as if it is objective truth.
Fox is openly right, but they invite real debate.
You tell me which is more fair.

@DixieDan3 The funny thing is that Fox is not really that conservative. O'Reilly and VanSusteren are both proaborts and were against W in the Iraq war. Rivera is an opened Democrat as is VanSusteren. Colmes is a fervent liberal. They're liberal on many social issues. Moreover, they invite very liberal guests who definitely get their shots in.
Main stream Conservatives are quite a bit more right than Fox. Yet this one opposing voice in an ocean of Liberal news is where you focus.

Fox has a different format: The commentators don't hide their opinion, but they invite guests with an opposing point of view.
But the big three, though undoubtedly possessing a liberal bias, do not reveal their point of view. Rather, they painstakingly try to hide their personal bias, yet stating DNC talking points as as if they are disinterested commentators.

It's part of the reason Beck and Fox finally separated, that and over a 100 sponsors had dropped Beck for his absurd lies, coached by Nixon's king of lies, Roger Ailes who manages Fox lies, such as O'Reilly's when stating he would "fight Andrea Mackris until the end" - until he found she taped his perverted calls.

@qwertypoiu4321 Two words about "Fox's star" Bill O'Reilly: Andrea Mackris. -He not only sexually harassed her, but tried to sue his victim stating he would "fight her to the end" -Until he found Mackris taped his perverted calls. Then suddenly Bill "flip-flops" and states he "..will never talk about this again"-After settling out of court for millions. The actual court documents are viewable online. At MSNBC they have fired hosts for far less, whereas at Fox, O'Reilly gets a renewed contract.

As I have posted for years about the daily lie of "Fair and Balanced" at FFF - Fox Fixed and Fake "news" - Their true motto should be "Unfair, Imbalanced, and Unashamed." Fox owner Rupert Murdoch is on tape admitting he has a far right agenda, after getting his collection of yes-men with far-right extreme agendas together, pay them millions to parrot an agenda, and thus create surreal propaganda as blatant as that of World War Two-era Japan/Germany/Italy.
