nice clip, i really dig this part of the drive. I've been riding thru 17 & 66 a couple times most years, since my childhood.. imo, its one of the most beautiful areas (any/all seasons) in the East.. that area has remained basically pristine & unchanged as long as i've been passing thru (about 30 years). Warrenton has changed some, but Delaplane, Paris, Boyce, etc.. those are some nice old Virginia hamlets, y'know. stay up, peace
@GeorgeWashingtonX Thanks... I think part of the reason why those little town haven't changed a lot is because the wealthy people living in the area have fought off a lot of growth and development. Which can be a good or a bad thing. Depending on how you look at it.
@VaFreeways I'm glad you get along with Freewayjim. Although I haven't uploaded any videos, I still have a strong interest in innovation and infrastructure. I did give you a friend request.
To start what could be an enjoyable friendship, I have a suggestion for a new video from you!
Since Jim has the video heading west, maybe you can do it east. I enjoy both urban and rural highways, although I'm more familiar with urban. Don't forget to choose local music.
@FreewayTitan I don't think they're even considering it.... they're more focused on Corridor H (US-48). Virginia also has zero interest in expanding I-66 beyond its Western terminus.
@bsdpowa You mean on the bridges? Asphault has a tendency to buckle and pothole much faster than concrete faster when used on bridges. I think concrete should be used a lot more than it is because, while initially more expensive, lasts much longer than asphault.
@VaFreeways but the ride is smoother on asphalt right? I mean I don't know because we don't have concrete roads where I live in Europe but I've read that vibrations can be hard on concrete
Great videos. What about making some new videos in the new year?

I always enjoy driving I-66 once you get in to the rural areas like this, nice video!

@Freewayjim Thanks, this section is really nice in the Fall... it was hazy, hot, and humid that day so the visibility was not the best.

Nice work :) Pavement seems very smooth compared to many other Interstates.

@aswchris It generally is... Virginia has great rural interstates but its urban stretches of interstate could use some improvements.

Cool vid. How far is this from I-66's eastern terminus in the District?
Bryant5493 1 year ago
@Bryant5493 It's in the Foggy Bottom area. If you look at Jim's video of I-66 West from last year... he starts at the Eastern terminus of it.

Oh, okay. Thanks.

I liked the video, but how is West Virginia feeling about the proposed extension? At the mercy of Kentucky? LOL.

@bsdpowa It can be a real nightmare when it gets old, but generally its just as smooth as asphalt.

That was a nice, smooth ride! Loved it!
