If you watch the second or first episode then he will tell you that the tissue in your throat needs to absorb the salt to fight bacteria so therefore do not swallow the salt.

too much can damage your mucous, which your body makes to defend itself.Salt does draw out water & bacteria edema & kills them, but only take 1/4 teaspoon or less.

Best to check with your doctor too
