@BADBOYKILLA3001 If you're even asking that question you shouldn't be driving. They are front wheel drive no you can't drift. You can "slide" by yanking your e-brake.

my girlfriend has a 2000 gs automatic and that thing is SLOW, and maybe due to it being well worn (we think its got a junkyard motor) the quality is shit too, but i'm not going to judge i'd like to drive a fairly new one to see what its like. these are nice little cars but IMO they killed the eclipse after the dsm.

i use royal purple on my 01 2.4 and have not had anyproblems is perfect 70,000 miles using it and no problem

not bad 0 to 100 in like 22 seconds i may be a little off as i do not have a stopwatch i have a 2002 eclipse 3.0 liter but i bought it with a blown motor i want something fast without spending alot of money....any help would be appreciated. thanks-charles.

@army1ty a mustang gt.. or srt4 .. depends on what kindof ride you prefer a fwd is good for a fun city driver but when they have alot of power the torque steer can be a bit overwhelming .. so maybe a rear drive or allwheel drive.. a large displacement or forced induction.. and as far as make look at it in this order 1st. euro 2nd asia 3rd american domestic and thats for general performance and durability

its a gs so its got a 2.4 right? my 96 rs has the 2.0 420A, and they run the same 0-60 time....stock. and thats the economy setup lol. the 4g63 has 30 ft lbs more torque.

raced one the other day rolling start 100kms- 200kms. Crushed him in my stock 330i. I was surprised how weak the mitzubishi 3.5 is.

i have a 2000 gs w/ cold air intake and full exaust and supposedly a chip to, and according to the accelerometer that came w/ my car my best 0-60 times were 6.9to 7.5!!!!!haha

Actually the car came with it when i bought it, u can only put chips in the 2000 eclipses, but the downside to that is u cant tune the computer, only in 2001-2005 models which came with 15 less horsepower stock.

Hey sorry if my first comment sounded snappy. I'm not puttin your ride down or anything I'm just surprised that you only managed an 8 sec. Hey, how many catalytic converters r u down to? did you leave them both on or did u take them both off or what? cause yours is a cali spec GS which means it's slower than the 00-02 GS eclipse. Just a thought you might wanna get rid of the one right beneath the header. not as restrictive if you do that.

@falomia i hit it in my 05 GS all the time, check my video, for a 4 cylinder the pull is pretty nice if you run the shift till 6500 on the first at least, definite tire squeel despite the grippy like tires and being auto.
