yea, same in india, like there are tabla, dholak, etc. it's interesting how words can translate over cultures. i don't think we have a set word for drum, just different types. also, the person who plays is called a dholi, and you guys call it dholchi. cool
so since your a lefty, your top hand (right) has to start the beat, it starts rrrrump (forshlakc), the left hand (bottom) does slap, then you go into bass and slap back and forth, then your right hand does the forshalck again...the way your doing it the beat gets interupted, its hanging u know what i mean....kaxes xpum axper. it should go, rrrumpata dukala dukala dukala, rrumpata dukala, get it lmaoo....
Good job, but your playing the 6/8 wrong. You have your hands mixed up bro. Your left hand is doing what your right hand should. The "forshlack", should be your top hand, the left lower hand is used only for slap and bass. The "rrrrump", you nkow what i mean, when u hit the dhol useingf your fingers one after another to manke it sound like a roll? its called a forshlack, you suppose to do that with the top hand, then slap with the left and go in the base and slap combo.

there's an armenian dhol. In india (mostly punjab) there are dhols (prononuced tol) but with different beays. is dhol just armenian for drum?
ngupta11354 3 years ago
No it's not armenian for drum, its what we call that instrument he is holding, everything else has different names, including drums.
