  • thats awsome!! lucy is so hilarious, thats great

  • "You've been married to Desi Arnaz?"

Haha, I loved how even Garry's reactions were changing!

  • What year is this?

  • Wow, betsy palmer look so hot here.

  • This is part 1: v=OW71dKMeGd4

  • Two Comedy legends together, wow. And by the way, this Saturday marks Lucy's 100 birthday. We all miss and love Lucy.

  • Wish Carson had announced that he was permanently turning over the Tonight Show to Henry Morgan.

  • PRICELESS!!! Thank you!!!

  • No one could have done it better. Wow. Wow.

  • When was this filmed?

  • Can you imagine the panel of a later version of "I've Got A Secret"?.where her daughter or son Ms.Lucie Arnaz or Desi Arnaz,Jr. imitating them..(LOL!).

  • Here are number one and two greatest TV stars of all time according to TV Guide performing their specialties. with henry morgan throwing a comment. all presided by another TV icon Garry Moore .

  • According to TV Guide Lucille Ball and Johnny Carson are #1 and #2 greatest TV stars in TV history. Here they are doing their specialties side by side. Lucy mugging a like vamp toward Johnny Carson

Carson in turn giving his great reaction "takes". Note also when Carson answers Balls question " Are you married ?" By stating He has the same story as Miss Ball's , how he reacts to the aside by Henry Morgan, " You were (also) married to Desi Arnaz !"his best Jack Benny voice.

  • What a gem! According to TV Guide Lucille Ball and Johnny Carson are #1 and #2 greatest TV stars in TV history. Here they are doing their specialties side by side. Lucy mugging a like vamp toward Johnny Carson

  • I love how she almost made Henry cry! :P

  • She has the best smirk!

  • Ahhh...

The good old days, when the smokers lighted up on their own free will.

Later, the tobacco companies forced you against your own will to light up,and so making them criminal.

  • This is the most she looked and acted like Lucy Ricardo past the end of the series before she changed hairstyles on The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour.

  • Lucy was a great actress/so pretty---Johnny Carson was so funny; very handsome. Both are sorely missed!

  • The Official Second Season of Lucille Ball's second series The Lucy Show, is coming to DVD on July 13, 2010! If you haven't seen the Lucy show it is so funny! And the second season co-stars Vivian Vance(Ethel)! Also it's in Color!

  • "is there something happening behind us?"

    "i hope not!"

GOD thats so dirty, its hillarious!!!!! i can watch this clip fifty billion times a day!!!!!

  • 4:28

  • Sorry My Bad! it was throat cancer that did him in in 1993.

  • As you can see smoking was allowed on tv they did not know that it would be banned in later years! FYI he died from emphysema!

  • Lucy was such a great actress. Her facial expressions were great.

  • This aired after the I Love Lucy show ended. Lucille Ball was still recovering from her divorce from Desi Arnaz at this time. But that doesn't stop me from being entertained by the guest panelists trying to figure out her expressions.

But the real treat of this video clip is seeing Johnny Carson dazzled by Lucille Ball's facial movements. It's hilarious. Especially since Johnny's Tonight Show would not come until a year or two later.

These two are gone and sorely missed.

  • Hilarious! That was great.

  • omg

  • dude, this is hillarious, and btw, lucy has always been very slim, she was just loosing weight because of all her wildcat rehersals, but other than that she was allright... if she wasnt she wouldntve appeared.... I KNOW MY LUCY....

  • does anything that we say have any effect whatsoever on you ?

  • LOL @ "Winston cigarettes!"

  • What does the man say at 04:38h???

  • lol when she was doing romantic and tipsy!!

    lucy: "johnny, are you married?"

johnny: "my story's the same as yours."

    (audience laughs loudly.)

other panelist: "were you married to desi arnaz?"

johnny: "no, i wasn't married to desi arnaz!"

(audience -and lucy- laugh even louder)

  • lucy looks so drained there, from all the rehearsals of wildcat....look at her what's my line from the years before, and then the one after wildcat, this whole year of wildcat, she was so tired, and plus the divorce situation...but she is awsome...she did awsome...

  • I enjoyed this tremendously. But I must say her different performances were not completely convincing. If not for the words that popped up on the screen you couldn't tell exactly which character she was playing each time. You could easily confuse dignified with with sad or happy with tipsy etc etc

  • I have to disagree. I read your comment before I watched, then covered the screen so I couldn't see what words when they popped up. I watched and wrote down what I thought she was acting out. Afterwards, I ran the clip again to see which ones I got right. I got them all right! Bravo, Lucy!

  • Well, Bee, maybe YOU are just smarter than I am. Bravo, Bee!!

  • No, I sure that's not the reason. Maybe I've just watched too much Lucy.

  • Seems like this was from Feb. 15, 1961, would I be correct? (Johnny Carson was filling in for Bill Cullen on this show.)

  • It's really a shame that she seemed limited by her success -- she didn't get a lot of chances to go outside her "Lucy" personna once I Love Lucy hit. Her early work in Stage Door, Beauty for the Asking and The Dark Corner show a very different side. Nice to see her get to break out a bit.

  • @staytunedfor , I agree. And I would have to add to that list the drama STONE PILLOW, which she did many years later (1985) and gave an amazing, convincing performance. That film, by the way, was in the top ten in the ratings.

I think at a certain point, she outgrew that "Lucy" persona and should have moved in a different direction. But she felt that's all her fans wanted to see her do, so she kept doing it. But it is a shame because she had so much more to offer.

  • They should do that for acting classes, and schools... that's a wonderful exercise for actors. God, I love her! Miss her so much :(

  • She never really had much of a chance on her shows to do pure improv but this really shows she could do that as well as anyone.

  • Oh my gosh, this woman is just simply amazing. Incredible in every way. Watching her just leaves me at a loss for words. Truely the funniest female to ever walk this earth.

  • Lucy was just pure magnificant!! I miss her! I wish she would still be alive :-(

  • I like dignified!! haha. Thanks for the clip!

  • Lucy is just marvelous! She can do anything...I don't think I'll ever get over her amazing talent! All those emotions were brilliant but I have to say happy, sad, and romantic are my favorite ones she did. I was feeling the emotions right along with her...I love you Lucy!
