Master Yi, the ultimate noob lord! You can get amazing stats with Yi... when you play against noob teams. That's why people start using him, thinking they're amazing players, and later find out they're crap. His CC vulnerability is too extreme. As soon as you face a team who knows what they're doing, well, he's basically raw meat. A well timed stun is all it takes before Yi turns into dust at later lvls. But obviously no solo champ can stand a well fed Yi, mostly because of his anti-slow ulti.

@dannyCOTW Nope. It solves his CC problems in noob matches, where players simply push their lanes and don't give a damn about what's happening on the rest of the map. But in any skilled team-fight Yi gets targeted first, and all you need is a tank like Alistar initiating and doing pulverize and poof, he's gone. Like I said, a well fed Yi can eliminate any solo champ or even two. In competitive matches he's useless. Read the video's description from Ciderhelm, it sums up everything.

@TheLactobacillus if yi is receiving really heavy focus in team fights i have found that if you use a combination of banshees, warmogs, and his "W" yi can be really quite tanky, and still have inventory to keep the meat and potatoes of whatever build you were originally working towards. or you could even go a straight up tank build and just use his ult get out after you hit "W" and take the initial nuking.

@TheLactobacillus Jax can 1v1 with Yi. If you see yi coming fully chaged with Highlander and Wuju style active, you just dodge all his attack for 2 seconds, stun him, and and then finish the job. If he meditates, he will tank you for 5 secs and then he is dead. Unless he uses the remaining 1 secong of his ulti to get away, he is dead meat. but escaping is not an option when facing Jax 1v1. The only option is death.

infinity edges passive doesnt stack, so ur throwing money away.

besides, with 2 bloodthirsters, after killing minions, your AD will be higher than if you had another infinity edge, and you'll also have more crit chance and lifesteal.

Master Yi is my main because he's a high burst champion that can be used to chase down even fast-ish champs that are running, and because he's amazing for backdooring. And, in a high AD group that your enemy's countering with Thornmail and armor, maxing your CDR and stacking AP can lead to Alpha Strike SLAUGHTER with very little damage taken and hardly any downtime. However, he tends to die. A lot. A sloppy early game can turn him from carry to fodder.

Of course it works for every champ, but it synergises with Master Yi more than say, Karthus or LeBlanc. So for your information of course it frigging works on every champ. I'm just saying its extraordinary effect on Yi. You don't need to call someone a noob because he didn't say "it works on everyone".

Ciderhelm which champion would you recommend for someone who really enjoys what Master Yi feels like?

I'm wanting to switch champions because I don't like how squishy Master Yi is early on in the game, so far i've tried Tryndamere, Jax and Garen.

@toudal89 If you dont like to do much with your abilities, go for tryndamere, if you like a silence, go for garen, if you want a stun plus tons of damage and alot of health, go for jax, If you want to be op as hell, buy lee sin <<(been there done that) But if you want a champion similar to master yi, tryndamere is my only answer, or xin zhao ;)

I am not sure if he feels 100% the same, but renekton is a melee champ too, only he is way tankier using his skills in combo for damage, TBH yi is a one-of-a-kind, if you want tankier champs look into offtanks or tanky DPS's, like nocturne/leesin/xin [ if going offtank] or irelia, gangplank and yorick

@CrossZiggy thank you for the response^^ I sort of looked into it myself, and found that gangplank was exactly what I was looking for. I might just be bad, but I wouldn't consider him an offtank. Atleast I build him with heavy attack damage, can easily make parrrley crit for 1k. I also like getting the phantom dancer late game, makes it damn near impossible to get away from him.

I'm glad you emphasized CC on yi. Late game if built for AP, his meditation makes him practically un-killable by a full team without CC, and his alpha strike hits quite hard. But AP yi is far from the norm of most players who play him.
