Ugh, I can't believe Glee is doing this song. It's an embarrassment. Sung by people who have never visited Africa about a religion that half of Africa doesn't celebrate, further propagating the belief that the only thing Africa is good for is to make us feel bad enough to give them money to save them from themselves. Of course there won't be snow in Africa - there's no snow in Florida, either, should we send them money?

And I know it's not about that one lyric, but that one lyric represents every other misrepresentation in the song. But the "only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears," for example, is just propaganda promoting the stereotype that Africa is a wasteland, which it isn't - it's so much more than that, and its people deserve better than to be treated like victims all the time.
