  • If we get machines to do all manual labor and everyone is educated to be decent "idea" labor (businesspeople, artists, engineers, scientists, doctors, policy makers, etc) then there actually won't be poverty as we know it. Sure, there will be a talented elite but the people on the bottom won't be suffering as they are today.

  • interesting, cool visualization. his pronunciation borders on rape of the english language however...

  • China is now 50/50 urban/rural, as of 2009

  • poverty eliminated in China!!!

    dont make me laught

  • lol he's like an economic weather man there

  • This data doesn't take into account of the standard of living. Even though 60% of china still lives in the rural, poverty is almost totally eliminated.

  • No. Hundreds of millions of Chinese live below the poverty line of $1.25 a day. China's Gini coefficient is among the highest in the world, meaning that much of its GDP growth is distributed to the higher portion of society

  • good info

  • great data visualization

  • i think urban or rural population is not a problem in Asia its the governments and corruption is the problem.

to reduce this problem education is must.

  • Its difficult and expensive to provide rural education
