  • Symptoms... people keep trying to treat symptoms. How about treating the CAUSE of poverty instead? The tragedy is not that it costs $450 to hook into the water supply... it's that people are earning only $600/year in some nations. To fix that, you have to allow stable property rights, so business can invest and thrive, and thus create jobs. These third world sh*tholes do not have property rights, which is why they have such obscene poverty.

  • @basspig Are you stupid or just trolling? They have no property rights yet water is a traded commodity? I dunno where you get this shit from. How about the family from Detroit. They have no property rights in Detroit? It's pretty appalling how conservative trolls always seem to draw the conclusion that in order to fix a problem we need more of what caused it in the first place.

  • @PktMma Nobody has property rights in these 3rd world 'nations', which is the core problem here. It's not corporate greed--it's government dictatorship that caused this.

There can be no clearer picture of the difference between Capitalism and this kind of existence than a night aerial photo of the Koreas. North Korea is in darkness, while South Korea sparkles like a Christmas tree. The difference is Capitalism. If you pay property taxes, you don't have property rights. Don't pay. C what happens.

  • @basspig Korea? Is Detroit in Korea?

  • @PktMma Do you have difficulty understanding what a comparison is? Look at a nighttime aerial map of the Korean peninsula and note the difference between north and south Korea. It's true for any nation, but that satellite photo is world-famous for the message it imparts: the physical manifestation of man's philosophical ideas. One, freedom, the other, slavery. Detroit is becoming like a 3rd world country. No property rights, no investment. It's that simple.

  • @basspig Where was Korea mentioned in the documentary? A documentary about the PRIVATIZATION of water. You know, like making water a privately owned commodity to be bought and sold on the FREE MARKET.

  • @PktMma It wasn't. It's merely a clear illustration of how ideas manifest in physical form. Modern Age vs. Dark Age.

  • @basspig But totally irrelevant.

  • @PktMma Hardly. A world without Capitalism is a world without access to resources. Capitalism, the freedom to apply man's mind to harness nature, is what makes resource availability, like running water, possible.

  • @basspig Ok I'll ask you again, they have no capitalism in Detroit?

  • Really people?! Some of the comments you people make just go to show what class of people you are. As far as poor people with lots of children, they don't know about birth control and even if they did, if they can't afford water what the hell makes you think they can afford birth control????!! >.< UGH Look at the REAL picture here! it isn't about this man or this woman and their families!!!OUR WORLD AS WE KNOW IT IS IN PERIL!!! Open your eyes and look at the big picture. . . .

  • Quit having so many kids...and the woman from detroit could sell some of that gold shes wearing.

  • This is evil. But why do people who are poor have so many children? I mean for fucks sake, if you don't need them for labour around the farm why bring little people in the world to get sick and die horrible deaths? Pure selfishness if you ask me.

  • Rain catches? Useless for ppl who don't get rain.

Storage tanks? 3 generators with solar panels? ... Much of the poor in developing countries earn about a 1$ every two days, so maybe they can invest in that when like pigs start flying :)

Storage Tanks? What are they going to store...

  • because their droughts are a lot worst over there than they are here

  • because their droughts are a lot worst over their than they are here

  • Why don't these people build their own rain catches? And storage tanks. I stocked up on food & water. I also catch rain water and have 3 generators and solar panels with power inverters so my family will never go with out.

  • Ok..... THAT is why you don't have water, retards!!!!!! You are all complaining and dying of lack of water..... then at the end you get water, and what do you do with it? You instantly WASTE it and start pouring it all over the ground. If these people had a brain in their head, they would be less unfortunate. If that were me, I'd be very careful about hiding the fact that I'm stealing water, and treat the use of it like Gold.

  • If that guy at the end got water on i spose the people who made this doco was the least they could do. Now the other kids will not pick on her and her family can start to live instead of trying to survive looking for decent water.

  • see this is how it goes not like there are other ways to get the water from lets spend billions on ways to kill people maybe thats what they mean they will kill half of them.

  • 2:21 priceless
