  • You dont get out much do yo

  • Windows Vista will Steal your Credit card and purchase old people porn. (cancel faded out)-Allow LOL

  • I don't really mind the UAC thing, but for some reason I can't type the password, The textbox just isn't there. Anyone know whats wrong with it?

  • dude thax but haha that sound was wierd that you did just make XD

  • UAC won't let limited users install ANYTHING, I have to use a fucking camera to record, and I can't use Procaster. UAC is fucking stupid, my 20 year od bro is a limited user on the family computer. I'm one of those sad people who were happy with XP, who now have vista. I can't believe I was forced to switch. R.I.P Windows XP :'( I'll miss you

  • i changed to IUAC sound to "ITS OVER 9000!!!"

so it doesn't bother me =)

  • Those premissions would drive me up the wall, so they had to go. Itkept asking me over and over the same stuff I do on the computer, so I tooked them off the next day.

  • Vista isn't awesome but it's not as terrible as people make it out to be. If you complain about Vista's UAC....then you haven't used OS X or Linux at all. It's a feature common for those OSes that was overdue for Windows- alert people when their account privileges need to be escalated.

  • For those who use the UAC, I've just uploaded a video describing how to get the same kind of feature in Windows XP...

  • LOL!

    *UAC pops up*

    DOOONG!

  • UAC is a bitch, EVEN WHEN YOU DELETE SOMETHING BOOM it pops up..

  • I'm not really annoyed with UAC. Thats not my problem..My problem is that for some reason, its a delayed popup. For example, I open up something, UAC pops up, but not as quick, it takes about 10 seconds of counting and then when I accept it, it takes 10 seconds again. How can I speed up the preformance of UAC?

  • DOOONG.

  • Who is this fag - Bill Gates junior

  • Then, it's the users' fault.

And, why would you ever put Vista on a Mac?

BTW, the inherited access controls in Mac OS/X (written by the BSD guys, not Apple), does the exact same thing that UAC does. It's just a lot better integrated (as it's been there for forever in the BSD line).

  • As far as UAC, the security isn't in the fact that it asks about things you are doing. It extends to any processes that are at your runlevel. Things in your startup. Daughter processes. All sorts of things running that don't have an interface. It prevents them from making changes without your authorization. UAC should NEVER be turned off.

  • It also pops up during just about EVERY little thing you want to do. It's not a better security feature because users will be so accustomed to clicking on "allow" that they will one day allow spyware to be installed. So it should ALWAYS be turned off! (This is one of the reasons I took Vista off both my Macs) I'm 100% Mac now Screw Vista turn off UAC

  • "They introduced DEP to XP wich pretty much prevented anything from being installed to your pc without u knowing it." That's not what DEP is. DEP merely prevents memory marked as data from being executed. It prevents buffer overflows which have plagued Windows for decades. (All the GOOD operating systems have the kernel coded to prevent the problem, but oh, well.

  • uac is bullshit its annoying as hell as an expert user like me i know whats safe and not so i find it annoying as hell

  • Amen brothah!

  • I turned it off because it got very annoying when it was asking me to give it permission to do every damn task or opening msconfig.

  • I was trying make changes to my program files because of uac i can't save the change. Is there any other way to do this without turning off the uac?

  • Do not turn off UAC for any reason. If a site or anyone tells you to turn it off. Don't listen. UAC is there for a reason--to ensure you are the one that doing the change not some virus or evil program that wants to damage your pc

  • UAC is ok but its a bit to paranoid.

  • UAC is awesome.

Here's another way to turn it off:

Click start. type "secpol.msc" in the search area, and press enter.

On the left, double-click Local Policies and then click Security options.

On the right, find the line marked: "User Account Control: Behavior of the Elevation Prompt for Administrators in Admin Approval mode"

In the box that comes up, click the down arrow and choose Elevate Without Prompting, and then click the OK button.

Click the red X on the Local Security Policy box.

  • UAC is for n00bs.

  • agreed. Seriously I never thought I'd miss XP

    AMDturi64x2--1.60GHz

    my RAM (lol) 894MB

    32-bit-system

if i use NO page NO program NO nothing -my MB is 50% charged to capacity

i need more ??i have no notion

i have 894 MB and 516MB are in use without any PRogr.

    PLEASE :( help

  • increase your page file and maybe look into installing a new stick of ram. vista runs best with 2gb of ran

  • User Account Control IS THE BEST and I tell you why. UAC stops things from installing by themselves. In XP, you be online and some virus or evil program will be installed on your PC and you won't even know it until days or weeks later. Think about it

  • Not true when SP2 hit XP some years ago. They introduced DEP to XP wich pretty much prevented anything from being installed to your pc without u knowing it.Well it actually pretty much prevented any kind of suspicious code from being executed.Anyway, not that i hate UAC but yeah...not such an important feature.

  • UAC is very good

  • chris pirillo is an idiot

  • UAC is terrible

  • Chris how does the sound go again? haha

I love how it takes 3 UAC popups to run most things, but 1 click to shutdown the PC

  • Thanks for checking out my videos Chris, I'm honored you subscribed. I also have a Mac , so I'll be posting OS X tips soon aswell.

    Cheers

  • u should have shown them that going to start and typing msconfig then going to the tool tab & clicking in Disable UAC then launchbutton can also turn UAC off

  • mircrosoft payed you to say that...lol jk

  • 'dong!'. 'Dong! Dong!'

  • Mousing hand, ha, never heard that one before. Love your dogs :D
