@DrDimentio hes a genius, a legend, if you gain a lot but he does not, he wouldn't be much of a legend, this guy needs to be in every game, but so far I've only seen him in white and platinum, not seen him in ruby or soulsilver

Okay - since the encounter rates for Magikarp are the same as Pearl (which the video was of), you should use the Good Rod in the same place I was in the video. Trust me on that.
Well, I showed my Fishing Records at the end of the video - over 9000 fish landed before the shiny. Definitely try to avoid missing the bite - it is possible to miss a potential shiny that way (I missed about 10 during my quest for this shiny).

Yeah, I guess it's pretty good... for a NU Pokemon. The only really good Normal/Flying type is Togekiss. Poor old Noctowl is overshadowed by that and many other flying types.
Yeah, I know. I kept my Dragonair a Dragonair because once it really gets down to it, it's better to just have two weaknesses, instead of one weakness and an OMGWTFBBQ weakness. Kinda like Gyarados, now I think about it. :3
Actually, not letting Dragonair evolve is very, very foolish! Dragonair is truly inferior to its evolution, as evolution is the process of a Pokemon becoming closer to perfection.
This is so unfair. Everyone but me has seen a Shiny at least once. I am of course excluding the Shiny Gyarados In Crystal, Gold, Silver, and their DS Counterparts. Why am I so unlucky?
Well, how long have you spent exclusively shiny-hunting? If you've been at it for a few hundred hours just doing that, you are unlucky. If not, you must realize that the chance seems much lower expressed as a decimal...
That's a good example of the rarity of a shiny (and I hope that Geodude wasn't capable of using Selfdestruct... that would suck badly. So you took 400 hours, and I took over 800 hours for my first random shiny... a Burmy. A frickin' BURMY >_>.
It actually DID know Selfdestruct but luckily I caught it with one Quick Ball.

God, that SUCKS. 800 HOURS? That's a lot considering it took me 100 hours to beat the Elite Four (I was stalling). Well, at least Burmy is an okay Pokemon. You should have seen, though. I didn't want to use a Master Ball, and even if I did want to, I used it on Mesprit already. I just chucked a Quick Ball and hoped for the best, and luckily it didn't escape. It's a shame I haven't found any yet. I'm redoing my Platinum game, and I'm at Pastoria City, so I'm sure a random shiny won't come for a while. So you have Burmy, Magikarp, and Geodude. That's pretty cool!

I don't remember how to clone items in Emerald. In fact, I never finished R/S/E at all. I could never bring myself to finish it. It's a great game but somehow I found the game too easy to go on. Anyways, if I had a shiny Burmy, I'd evolve it into a Wormadam Trash Cloak or a Mothim depending on its gender. How did you lose Burmy?
That's somewhat of a conflicting thing to say... too easy to go on. How I lost Burmy: After checking its summary to see it was indeed shiny (hardly tell the difference... crap shiny >_>), well... okay, so I'd been using every Honey Tree daily for months until I eventually got Munchlax a while later... so that Burmy was one of the encounters. Since Pokemon species is the same from a Tree if you reset, I stupidly assumed it would be shiny again... should've checked first. Oh well, I hate Burmy.
Oh, I see. That sucks T_T Pokemon species is the same in a Honey tree but gender, level, shininess and obvously stats/IVs are different. Burmy is crap, I know, buts its evolutions are okay if used correctly.
i only got lucky in gold catching a golden craby i was trippin when it started to shine but that was my 1 and only shiny pokemon i legit caught beside the gyarados
Yeah, but people would just evolve them and then they'd be red as usual. Blue would be cool. I know, it sucks that I can't "legally" recolour art >_>.
I am impressed with your work. Congratulations on catching such a rare and exotic Pokémon, finding a Pokémon of a different colour is impressive. I used to work for Team Rocket then I quit, Now I am a Pokémon Adventurer, I have seen hundreds of Shiny Pokémon.
Wow, er... thanks. It took ages, but I don't consider it work since it relies on chance. It sure is rare and exotic. Not impressive so much as lucky though. In battle my Gyarados is impressive of course. Awesome, good that you quit being on the dark side...
I once ran away from a siny ralts, and killed a shiny onix, and killed a shiny gyarados though i didn't care for the gyarados, ad traded a shiny tentecruel.
That's a tragic mistake, and for which reason I think the games should hint early on that shinies exist, and that they are very rare and well worth catching.

Same for me. Training a modest Kirlia with the Trace Ability (grrr...) in the Old Chateau, ran into a shiny Gastly, caught it, and found out it had a Modest nature. I'm like omfg holy crap! I really lucked out.
Lots of luck lives in that place, perhaps. Shame about the Trace ability, but so lucky with that nature. I'd say Modest and Rash (mine) are both about the same goodness for Gengar, since Timid is ideal. Lol, I was more like "........." and just laughed.
Well, there are plenty of Magikarp in the sea... the easiest to catch would be something like Gastly in the Old Chateau (see my video of that shiny). Depends what you mean by easiest.
Mine appeared when I had just put down my DS to check my computer... then I looked at the screen from a distance and got a pleasant surprise. Similar to my random shiny Burmy.
I've never heard of Pigyout... is that a 5th gen Pokemon? You're right that it's not a good shiny, sadly. My video comment space isn't a trade thread, sorry.
I would level up my shiny Magikarp to level 100 if I found one, magikarp is my favorite pokemon.

Anyways, if I had a shiny Burmy, I'd evolve it into a Wormadam Trash Cloak or a Mothim depending on its gender. How did you lose Burmy?

That's somewhat of a conflicting thing to say... too easy to go on. How I lost Burmy: After checking its summary to see it was indeed shiny (hardly tell the difference... crap shiny >_>), well... okay, so I'd been using every Honey Tree daily for months until I eventually got Munchlax a while later... so that Burmy was one of the encounters. Since Pokemon species is the same from a Tree if you reset, I stupidly assumed it would be shiny again... should've checked first. Oh well, I hate Burmy.

Oh, I see. That sucks T_T Pokemon species is the same in a Honey tree but gender, level, shininess and obvously stats/IVs are different. Burmy is crap, I know, buts its evolutions are okay if used correctly.

i only got lucky in gold catching a golden craby i was trippin when it started to shine but that was my 1 and only shiny pokemon i legit caught beside the gyarados

Yeah, but people would just evolve them and then they'd be red as usual. Blue would be cool. I know, it sucks that I can't "legally" recolour art >_>.

I am impressed with your work. Congratulations on catching such a rare and exotic Pokémon, finding a Pokémon of a different colour is impressive. I used to work for Team Rocket then I quit, Now I am a Pokémon Adventurer, I have seen hundreds of Shiny Pokémon.

Wow, er... thanks. It took ages, but I don't consider it work since it relies on chance. It sure is rare and exotic. Not impressive so much as lucky though. In battle my Gyarados is impressive of course. Awesome, good that you quit being on the dark side...

The first and only shiny pokemon I ever encountered was a silver psyduck.
I caught it on my crystal game on my old gameboy advanced.
But have long since deleted that save. :(

I'm pretty sure shiny Psyduck is blue, but perhaps it was silverish back in Crystal.

I once ran away from a siny ralts, and killed a shiny onix, and killed a shiny gyarados though i didn't care for the gyarados, ad traded a shiny tentecruel.

That's a tragic mistake, and for which reason I think the games should hint early on that shinies exist, and that they are very rare and well worth catching.

I think it's adamant 'cos the ralts had adamant nature and had synchronize - gives a +50% chance of it having the same nature as that pokemon.
That's my guess anyway :P :D

If your friend is a trustworthy person, maybe not... otherwise I'd say yes. Until HG/SS, they'll be extremely hard to come by. Also, unrelated comments to shiny Magikarps should go on my channel or something! Grr.

Same for me. Training a modest Kirlia with the Trace Ability (grrr...) in the Old Chateau, ran into a shiny Gastly, caught it, and found out it had a Modest nature. I'm like omfg holy crap! I really lucked out.

Lots of luck lives in that place, perhaps. Shame about the Trace ability, but so lucky with that nature. I'd say Modest and Rash (mine) are both about the same goodness for Gengar, since Timid is ideal. Lol, I was more like "........." and just laughed.

Well, there are plenty of Magikarp in the sea... the easiest to catch would be something like Gastly in the Old Chateau (see my video of that shiny). Depends what you mean by easiest.

Mine appeared when I had just put down my DS to check my computer... then I looked at the screen from a distance and got a pleasant surprise. Similar to my random shiny Burmy.
