Engine swap and turbo kit were done by previous owner right before I bought it, he had it all professionally done so he spent a lot. I have since changed the wastegate and spring, the fuel system and got it tuned on a hondata S300. If you were to do all the work your self you could build an equivalent setup for around 3-5k depending on how good of a deal you can get on parts. To have a shop do the swap and turbo and tune you can tack on another 1500-2k at least just in labor.
I love Del Sol's man, most people really do under estimate them. I'm working on my third one unfortunately but its going to built a lot lot stronger since I have the funds now. Trying to squeeze any twin cam in it instead of a mini me swap. By the way bro, I love the momo steering wheel, its a very sexy touch, even the white dash. I had that same one in my first whip. Keep up the work, long live the Sol's bro!
@95TurboSol I will soon, I'm trying to get some new cambers in it as we speak tonight lol. Its frustrating as hell lol. I did get a hold of a Blitz turbo, its nothing to big but I've personally never done a turbo in a Sol. My old 91 Prelude SI I hot done at a shop, but I'm more of a hands on guy. How strong is your build if you don't mind me asking?
How strong in terms of internals? I am running bone stock internals, just a low compression head gasket. My engine setup is a Turbonetics T3/T04 Turbo on 7psi, 550cc injectors, sparco IC ect, and the car was professionally dyno tuned by humble performance in Tulsa on a Hondata S300.
Engine has been great though, I did a compression test and it registered 215 and did not vary more then +- 3PSI for all cylinders! Pretty unheard of consistency, especially for a motor with almost 70k miles lol.
@95TurboSol Ahhh ok! Almost what I had in mind, I may be running a very similar set up unless I get the H set up strong enough, its just a lot of nick nannys that I have to fix. But I'm only planning on running 7-13 pounds. I will def post a vid soon and I will let you know when it is up!
For that boost level the H should hold up fine. The down side to the H series as I'm sure know is the factory FRM sleeves they come with, if you want to run forged internals you'd have to resleeve the block. But yeah the torque you will make even at low boost levels on the H will be hilarious, especially in a del sol! Better save up now for all the tires you'll be buying lol.
Yeah fair enough, I bought the car as an unfinished project 7 years ago and I have actually toned it down from what it used to be to make it more clean looking. The guy I bought it from had a drag spoiler and a VIS extreme rear bumper, which is Really OTT, I removed the spoiler and repainted the trunk and replaced the VIS with a kaminari bumper which is just slightly different than stock. Anyway, thanks for stopping by.
Yeah it's putting down 237whp, all stock internals and running 7psi. Nothing crazy but reliable as anything. Of course you have to realize it was 107 deg out when I shot this video and I didn't push it as hard as it will go by any means, I'll be doing another video here in the fall and I plan to push it a bit harder.
You should post a video of your Sol, I'd love to see it.
@95TurboSol I'll try to upload a vid soon ;) I don't have a good one of my own sol yet. To bad I can't film the ride as pro as you did(thumbs up for that though) but I'll make the best of it!
You wouldn't want it if you lived in Tulsa though lol, I have already had to take two rims to the machine shop due to pot holes and I've only been here 2 years... :(
Cool vid, Ugly styling imo.

Good effort and well filmed but body styling is OTT. Each to their own though
